Hurricane Melissa ravaged Jamaica on October 28, 2025 and the western end of the island took the brunt of the impact. Three months later, recovery still feels like a distant hope for many of our people.

The VHF family is deeply charged to do what we can to help our island. Thanks to the friends of VHF, we were able to donate shelter items (tarpaulin, blankets, towels, washcloths, mosquito repellent) as well as food items and household supplies to the resilient and collaborative community of FARM in Whitehouse Westmoreland.

Thank you to Dr. Dayton Campbell for welcoming our efforts, guiding us into a part of his constituency and enlightening us on both its beauty and heartbreak.

It's not about politics... just PEOPLE.

We encourage you to make giving back a part of your 2026 new year's goals! Whether it is our charity or another (and ours 😊) see how your big or small act of generosity can not only change the life of someone and their family but also YOURS!

Our 2025 Award Ceremony Guest Speaker Mr. Ravi Sittol is an Architect and the Managing Director of Sittol Architects & Associates Ltd and Director of Lottis Projects Limited.

Mr. Sittol gave an impassioned and thought- provoking charge using Jenga as the perfect object lesson for our Scholarship Awardees (and their parents/ guardians)! Nothing like an interactive talk! Here are a few of his key takeaways:

1. Be kind and generous – Give your time, help, and encouragement freely
2. Look out for each other – Support and protect those around you
3. Respect everyone – Treat all people with dignity, no matter their role
4. Be honest – Speak truth, even when it’s difficult
5. Work hard and stay humble – Strive for excellence without pride
6. Be responsible – Take ownership of your actions and choices
7. Leave things better than you found them – Always aim to improve your environment
8. Pray and trust God – Let Him guide your steps and strengthen your heart
9. Show gratitude – Always thank God and the people who help you along the way
10.Persevere through challenges – Never give up, because God gives the strength to keep going.

Thanks for sharing your truth, inspiring our winners and supporting our mission Mr. Sittol!

For the FIRST time, our Foundation is shining the spotlight on the incredible parents/guardians who have been the backbone of our Scholarship Awardees. These unsung heroes have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and we celebrate them just as much as our Awardees. Here's to the power of community, family, and dreams that never stop growing. Together, we rise!

"Technology is transforming the world, and education must evolve alongside it!"

In today’s world, a tablet or laptop is no longer a luxury—it’s a must-have school supply. Thanks to the amazing success of our first Charity Mingle event, our 10 Scholarship Awardees can now cross that essential item off their back-to-school list!

"Students can’t focus when their stomachs are empty." – Diane Gillen

We had the joy of surprising our incredible scholarship winners (and their families) with a selection of grocery essentials, ensuring they have what they need to stay nourished and focused. It’s a privilege to support not only their academic journey but all the little things that help them shine even brighter!

Thanks to Pasha's Fashion for putting all the items together!
