JAFA's commitment & contribution to the people of Jamaica are made manifest in the following core projects:
(1) The award of annual Bursaries to two qualified but needy final-year students at the University of the West Indies, Mona & the University of Technology, Jamaica in alternate years. (2) The hosting of an annual Christmas Treat for over 200 children from a variety of children's homes in Ki
ngston & St. (3) The adoption of the National Water Commission Co-op Credit Union Basic School, where support is offered in a number of areas including but not limited to refurbishing & upgrading. As part of the ongoing fostering of good relations and exchange between the US & Jamaica, President of JAFA, Morin Seymour recently (2011) launched the Eisenhower Luncheon, which is slated to be a calendar event in the month of November. Finally, JAFA hosts an annual Classical Concert, MUSIC THROUGH THE AGES, featuring some of Jamaica's most acclaimed classical performers, including JAFA Member Carole Reid who is also instrumental in organizing the event. We welcome continued support of this fund-raising event, as it plays a pivotal role in JAFA's ability to implement the stated projects.
