We are a non-profit organization aimed at combating corruption in Jamaica through education, encouraging anti-corruption vigilance and activism, and through lobbying the government to enforce anti-corruption laws.

On November 25, 2025, the NIA hosted its Multi-Stakeholder Forum under the EU-funded project “Strengthening Civil Society for Greater Advocacy and Impact on Human Rights and Democracy in Jamaica.”

Centered on the theme “Ensuring efficiency, fairness, accountability and citizen engagement in hurricane relief, recovery and reconstruction,” this forum was geared toward examining and strengthening the Government’s post–Hurricane Melissa relief efforts.

We were honoured to have greetings from Ms. Vana Lawrence, Programme Manager, Delegation of the European Union to Jamaica, Belize & The Bahamas.

Presentations were delivered by:
🔹 Mrs. Sashein Wright-Chin, Manager, Anti-Corruption Outreach & Education – Integrity Commission
🔹 Ms. Jeanette Calder, Executive Director – Jamaica Accountability Meter Portal (JAMP)
🔹 Ms. Danielle Archer, Principal Director – National Integrity Action (NIA)

The session featured a dynamic open discussion, Q&A segment, and concluded with a comprehensive summary and next steps by Professor Trevor Munroe, CD, DPhil, Founding Director of the NIA.

These forums create an essential space for civil society, public institutions, and citizens to come together; to learn, to challenge, to strengthen accountability, and to improve how we respond to national crises. They are designed to deepen understanding, spark collaboration, and empower communities with the knowledge needed to build a more transparent and resilient Jamaica. 🇯🇲💛🖤💚

🇯🇲 Happy National Heroes Day, Jamaica! 💚💛🖤

Today, we celebrate the brave men and women who stood firm for justice, equality, and the right to speak freely. Their courage paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy today, reminding us that true heroism lies in integrity, resilience, and the courage to stand for what’s right.

Let’s honor their legacy by continuing to uphold honesty, fairness, and the freedom of expression in all we do. 💫

Democracy is not a performance. It is practice. And when citizens are denied the tools to participate
— or forced to use only those tools sanctioned by the state — democracy becomes a monologue, not a dialogue. We urge all Jamaicans to stand with civil society in demanding a petition process that is accessible, accountable, and worthy of the people it serves.
There is still time to Be True and to Do the Right Thing.

Day 2 ✅ of our two-day Capacity Building Workshop under the theme “Strengthening Civil Society to Impact Democracy in Jamaica” continued with meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and reflection. 🇯🇲

As Civil Society Organizations, our role is to serve as the bridge between citizens and the state; amplifying voices, holding institutions accountable, and promoting transparency, participation, and equity. 💪🏽

It’s essential for us to analyze Jamaica’s democratic journey and understanding where we’ve come from, where we stand today, and what actions are needed to strengthen our democracy for the future. By identifying new avenues and approaches, we can better engage citizens, influence policy, and drive the collective effort toward a more just, inclusive, and accountable Jamaica. 🇯🇲🤝
