🇯🇲 Happy Labour Day, Jamaica!

Today, we honour the hands, hearts, and hustle that keep our nation moving forward. But we also recognize the importance of creating opportunities for the next generation.

At The MultiCare Youth Foundation, we are committed to empowering young people with the skills, confidence, mentorship, and real-world experience they need to thrive in the workforce and beyond. 💼✨

Every success story is helping to build a stronger, safer, and more resilient Jamaica — one young person at a time.

This Labour Day, let’s continue investing in people, purpose, and possibility. 🇯🇲❤️

✨ Celebrating Impact. Empowering Futures. ✨

The EU BRIDGE Project Graduation & Close Out Event brought together partners, mentors, families, and supporters to honour the journey of more than 300 at-risk youth who participated in 30 months of transformative interventions across Kingston & St. Andrew, Clarendon, Westmoreland, and St. James.

From life skills and vocational training to mentorship and behavioural support, these graduates demonstrated resilience, growth, and the power of opportunity. We also celebrated the collaboration of our partners whose assistance made this work possible.

Thank you to the European Union, implementing partners, community champions, and every young person who trusted the process. The legacy of EU BRIDGE will continue to strengthen pathways to empowerment, education, development and reintegration across Jamaica.

The MYF is delighted to announce the appointment of former Executive Director, Alicia Glasgow Gentles to our Board of Directors, and to welcome Mitzian Turner as she takes up her appointment as our new Executive Director.

Mrs. Glasgow Gentles has given nearly 12 years of her life to the Foundation. 12 years of tireless commitment, creativity, and passion for young people across Jamaica. Through her steady leadership, she made The MYF thrive. She brought focus, order, and an unwavering belief in our mission – that every Jamaican young person deserves the opportunity to learn, to grow, and to succeed.

Mrs. Mitzian Turner joined The MYF in early 2023 as Director of Projects and Strategic Management, she has shown exceptional strategic vision, professionalism, and a quiet but firm determination that every project must deliver measurable results, coupled with the understanding that impact is not only about numbers, but about lives being changed.

The MultiCare Youth Foundation works with local and international partners to provide layered, pro-social interventions to empower vulnerable young men and women to avoid becoming involved with, or victims of crime and violence, and to go on to build a positive future. Over 200,000 young Jamaicans have benefited from these interventions, and The MYF is most recently facilitated training teachers and youth workers in Barbados to administer one of its programmes, in the first of a planned collaboration with other Caribbean nations.

We congratulate Mrs. Glasgow and Mrs. Turner on their new appointments and wish them every success!

On October 5, 2025, the MultiCare Youth Foundation proudly hosted the Starbucks YUTE Work II Close-Out Event at the Courtleigh Hotel, celebrating the incredible journey of our young participants who have grown, learned, and achieved through this transformative programme.

Through skills training, mentorship, and personal development, our youth have demonstrated the power of opportunity and perseverance. Together with Starbucks Jamaica, The Starbucks Foundation and Sandals Foundation, as well as our implementation partners, we’re shaping a generation ready to lead, serve, and succeed.

Here’s to new beginnings and brighter futures — one cup, one youth, one community at a time.

Standing Together in the Aftermath of Hurricane Melissa 💛🇯🇲

The MultiCare Youth Foundation stands with every individual and family impacted by the devastating effects of Hurricane Melissa.

Our hearts are with members of our MYF family, especially those in Western Jamaica, where we proudly serve some of our most vulnerable youth in the communities of:
📍 Savanna-La-Mar & Russia in Westmoreland
📍 Irwin, Spot Valley & Salt Spring in St. James

Many of our programme participants, facilitators, and community partners are now facing unimaginable hardship — without electricity, running water, essential supplies, or in some cases, a safe place to sleep.

As an organization rooted in service and hope, we cannot stand by while members of Western Jamaica, which include the MYF family, struggle to meet even the most basic needs.

We have already deployed tarpaulins, bottled water, and food/personal supplies to select individuals in Westmoreland, but remain cognizant of the fact that so much more is urgently needed.

We are actively assembling additional care packages to deliver comfort, relief, and stability in this difficult time, and we will continue working closely with our partners and supporters to bring assistance where it is needed most.

To our Western Jamaica family: You are not alone. We see you. We stand with you. And we will continue to support you in every way that we can with each step toward recovery. 💙
