(5)

The main objective is to restore Trench Town to a once beautiful, uplifting, peaceful place where you can raise your children and live in a safe environment. Formation
The group was formed on February15 2012 in Trench Town (Angola- Arnett Garden). The executive members of the group were selected from a consensus of 25 males. (Membership average is 21males)
Executive Members:-
(1) Curtis Robinson (

Act. Vice President) (3) Trevor Edmondson (Act. Public Relations Officer) (4) Michael Francis (Act. Treasurer) (5) Oliver Rowe (Act. President) (6) Anthony Clarke (Act. Public Relations Officer) (7) Nicholas Tait (Act. Treasurer) (8) Andre Parchment (Act. Secretary)
Reason for forming
The reason is because of the bashing being given to fathers in Jamaica. Fathers who are seen as either absent in the home, or as s***m donors or “dutty fada” all give a bad name to fathers who are playing their part in their homes and in their children life. Curtis Robinson, Trevor Edmondson, Howard Chevannes and Harold Lowe came up with the idea together (as fathers in Trench Town who were engaged in some parenting workshop hosted by the Joy Town Development Foundation (JTDF) and the Citizen Security and Justice Program (CSJP)) along with other members of the Trench Town community as fathers seeing the need to educate the wider society (mainly fathers) and Jamaica on a whole of the importance of proper parenting and being the role model for your children thus securing a better future for the young ones and instilling in them the right values and morals needed to go further in life. We believe that the teaching and practising of proper parenting habits can eliminate these stigmas that are attached to fathers in Jamaica and so we will be doing this as long as we have the strength. Mission and Objective
Our mission is to restore Trench Town to the beautiful and uplifting community it once was before. Our objective is to enhance effective parenting and stability through meaningful intervention and dialogue with other organisations such as ours. Programs Issued
We have conducted a soup kitchen programme which catered to the elderly being given a bowl of soup on Saturdays just to alleviate the grip of hunger in these hard economic times. This was run for three consecutive months before it ended. Also we have received continuous sponsor from CSJP and JTDF in enrolling 23 young males in a HEART institute, 17 in an Internship Programme at JDF. On top of that 25 more males ages 17-70 are a part of a Literacy/Numeracy class being run at the Ambassador Theatre. Thirteen (13) males were selected to do an entry test late November 2014 in response to a request from Social Development Commission (SDC) to provide 13 young males for a chance to enter JAGAS. Oliver Rowe was the only male in the 13 who was successful at entry stage and he has performed outstanding in his tenure at JAGAS in Tyre Repair and Maintenance and is waiting to continue further in the field of Engine Systems at the said HEART Institute. Meetings
We keep a weekly Tuesday night meeting in Angola scheme in Trench Town and discuss ways by which we can empower: parents in the society, the members in the organization and the youths of the future. We also try to build a network with other organizations locally and internationally to enhance the life of our members and we have taken the initiative to start meeting with youths in the Fletcher’s Land Community Centre who have come in close contact with the group members and are respectful about the group F.U.F.C.. Weekly Monday meetings have started since February 6 & 7, creating a link which makes the commitment stronger. Organisation Network
