CMU boasts an active sporting extra-curricular programme. Students are encouraged to get involved in many different areas and learn new skills. One popular choice is swimming, as many students learn how to swim once enrolled at the CMU. Another popular choice is cheerleading. The University has established a long-standing involvement in the sport at the national level. Students participate in bask

etball, netball, football and athletics, however there are two sporting fraternities that are not only fairly new to Jamaica but are being spearheaded by the CMI. These are Rowing and Fencing.
