🌎 : We’re proud of Fellow Alexander Causwell () representing CAPRI this week at the 2nd Discussion Seminar of the IDB’s Research Network Project on Organized Crime and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean!

Presenting on behalf of CAPRI’s research team, comprising Director of Research Diana Thorburn (.thorburn), Fellow Aubrey Stewart () and himself, Alexander shared our ongoing work examining organised crime in Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago through social network and geospatial analysis.

As the project moves into its final stages, CAPRI remains proud to contribute as the only Caribbean think tank selected to participate in the network.

The first thousand days of a child’s life are when the brain develops fastest, when nutrition deficits can become permanent, and when the foundations for lifelong learning, health and productivity are built.

The investments made during this window yield the greatest returns. And this is where Jamaica has the greatest opportunity to strength outcomes long before the appear in the classroom, workplace or community.

🌎 : Diana Thorburn (Director of Research) representing CAPRI at the OECD’s The Future of Development Co-operation conference () in Paris, France.

As a panelist in the roundtable discussion, “Identifying Areas of Convergence on Purposes of International Development Co-operation,” Diana contributed to the conversation with a strong focus on locally led development and South-South cooperation— ensuring Caribbean perspectives are helping shape the global agenda, not just participating in it.

It was also a great opportunity to reconnect and exchange ideas with our colleagues at Southern Voice!
