In honor of International Enrolled Nurses Week, under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Weathering the Storm Celebrating 53 Years of Excellence in Global Health,” the Jamaica Enrolled Nurses Association hosted a series of meaningful and impactful activities celebrating the nursing profession and its invaluable contribution to healthcare.

The week commenced on May 3rd with a church service held at the New Testament Church of God, where members gathered in fellowship and thanksgiving.

On Monday, May 4th, the Association paid its first courtesy call to the Mayor of Kingston and St. Andrew, fostering partnership and dialogue on matters affecting nurses, healthcare, and the wider community.

Activities continued on May 5th with visits to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Health, where discussions centered on the Association’s history, the welfare of nurses, and the advancement of healthcare in Jamaica.

The national seminar was held on May 6th, bringing together nurses and other healthcare professionals for educational and professional development . Presentations were meaningful and engaging on important healthcare topics.

On May 7th, the Association honored its retirees with a special visit and luncheon, recognizing their years of dedicated and invaluable service to nursing and to Jamaica.

The week concluded on May 8th with fundraising activities carried out at various institutions in support of the Association’s initiatives and continued service to the nursing community.
