Today's the day!

A huge good luck to our very own Davide Pita, Operations and Youth Support Officer at St John Ambulance Jersey, as he takes on the Half Marathon today.

Davide is running to raise funds for St John Ambulance Jersey, helping us continue providing vital first aid services, training and community support across the Island.

We're incredibly grateful for everything Davide does for the organisation and proud to see him taking on this challenge in support of our charity.

If you'd like to support Davide and make a donation, you can do so here:

Good luck, Davide! We'll all be cheering you on every step of the way. 💚🚑

Fancy becoming a badger?

Anyone aged 6-10 can join a Badger Sett, these groups operate at St Martin and HQ Midvale Road. They usually meet once a week in term time for around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Badgers take part in fun activities for different subjects, earning badges and certificates for each one. For every three subjects a Badger completes, they can receive a bronze, silver, or gold award.

These subjects are taught in a fun and easy to understand way, they include the following topics:

⭐Heathy Badger - healthy eating and food preparation

⭐Active Badger - sports, healthy lifestyle and team games

⭐First Aid Badger - basic first aid skills

As well as the Super Badger Award, other events and activities that a Badger can be involved in are:

⭐Craft Days
⭐Swimming Galas
⭐First Aid Competitions
⭐Badger Camps
⭐Flag Days
⭐Parades

When a Badger reaches the age of 9 they may become involved in the Follow Me Badger Scheme; this gives the Badger extra responsibility in the Sett and aims to help them help younger members of the Sett as well as preparing for moving up to Cadets.

Badgers can:

⭐learn first aid
⭐make new friends
⭐get creative with arts and crafts
⭐find out how the body works and how to stay healthy
⭐learn about helping their local community
⭐take part in team games
⭐develop leadership and communication skills, and much more!

Badger activities

Badgers can keep a record of their achievements in their Badger passport before moving on to Cadets.

No two days are ever the same for our volunteers.

One day might involve providing first aid cover at a community event, another could be supporting young people through our cadet programmes or helping deliver training to the public.

Our volunteers give their time to help keep Jersey safe, and we couldn’t do it without them 👏

Everyone has their own reason for volunteering.

For some, it’s learning new skills. For others, it’s giving back to the community, making friends, building confidence or helping people when they need it most.

Whatever the reason, being part of St John Ambulance Jersey means being part of a team that cares 💚
