Steve's wedding ring flew from his finger as he played with a ball with his granddaughter in his garden.
He heard the ring hit the wood of a raised bed but, despite searching extensively, he could not find it.

When Steve explained what had happened and showed me the raised bed I expected it to be a two minute job for a metal detecting pinpointer duct-taped to a stick, but it proved to be quite tricky.

The ring had "ring tossed" over a little grey stone and was almost impossible to see, even when I knew it was there.

I found Francesca's ring by chance while searching for a different one in Portelet Bay on Saturday evening.

I made posts in Jersey lost and found groups and one of Francesca's friends saw my post, recognised the ring and linked us up.

We met today to return Francesca's ring and she explained how special it is to her.
I'm very happy that I could get it back to her.

After a meal at Spice View Restaurant and on his way down to catch a bus from Gorey harbour, Fergal's gold signet ring fell from his finger.
He and his friends heard the ring hit the paved path but they couldn't find it.
I went there this morning and was able to find Fergal's ring. It had bounced off the path and landed some distance away, in foliage at the base of a fence 🇯🇪

A lady's gold wedding ring recovered from a thick hedge this morning.
She threw her ring into the hedge two weeks ago during the "heat of the moment" and had searched for it for hours since then.

I used a big metal detector to clear the leafy foliage in case the ring was hanging up in it and then used a metal detecting pinpointer, duct-taped to a stick, to probe the base of the hedge.
The ring was tucked into a fork at the base of the hedge and would have been impossible to see.

🐐🐐🙂👍Having last seen it on Saturday, Ryan wasn't sure where he lost his platinum wedding band.
He had turned the house upside down with no luck so thought that it may have been lost while out running, or on the walk to the field where his goats are kept, in the goats' enclosure, or on the trip to collect hay from a different field.

We met today and he walked me through the possible locations. I found Ryan's ring in the hay, just outside the goats' enclosure.

James messaged me yesterday evening to ask for some help to find his gold signet ring, which flew from his finger when he threw a ball for his dog.

It was a big field but James did a great job of marking the area in which his ring came off, so it turned out to be a quick recovery.

He was with me when I found his ring this morning and it was great to see his reaction 🙂

41 successful recoveries this year, including 34 rings and other pieces of jewellery, plus phones, watches and other items.

Highlights were the return of Luis's wedding ring, lost 27 years ago, which I found by chance while detecting in Grouville Bay, and a scuba dive to recover James's gold sovereign pendant, which he lost while swimming off the coast at Beauport.

I am happy to have been able to help fellow islanders, friends and visitors to Jersey.
Onwards to 2026!
