Diabetes Jersey The only Diabetes charity in the Island, Diabetes Jersey works tirelessly to support the work of the Jersey Diabetes Centre.

The primary function of the charity is to raise awareness of the condition; offer information and advice to all those that require it including people with Diabetes, their family and friends. Fund raising activities enable the group to achieve its aims but also improve the lives of many people that pass through the Diabetes Centre.

Look After Your Feet in the Heat 👣

Warmer weather means more time outdoors, but if you have diabetes, it's important to give your feet extra care.

Check your feet daily for cuts, blisters, redness, or swelling
Keep feet clean and dry, especially between the toes
Wear comfortable, well-fitting footwear outdoors
Avoid walking barefoot, even on the beach (or around the pool)
Stay hydrated and protect your skin from the sun


Hot weather can increase the risk of foot problems, so a few simple precautions can help keep your feet healthy all summer long.

If you notice any changes or concerns, seek advice from your healthcare professional.

Have you seen our branded double decker? This highlights the number of people in Jersey with Type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes is affecting thousands of Islanders, and the numbers are rising.

Recent estimates suggest around 4,500 adults in Jersey are living with diabetes, with most cases being type 2 diabetes.

On a double decker bus (full) this would be around 3 people. Don't miss the stop, get yourself checked.

The Charity was pleased to announce the funding of insulin pumps to 32 patients. The agreement was signed last week.

Diabetes Jersey chair Bill O’Brien added: “Diabetes Jersey is delighted that, having collaborated with the Minister for Health and the executive team at Health and Care Jersey, this Memorandum of Understanding has now been signed by both parties.”
