🎄 Help Us Make Our Office Festive for Christmas

Bit early to the party here in October! But as we head into the Festive season, we’d love to make our Family First office feel warm, welcoming for the families we’re supporting. 🎁

🌟 Rosie’s Journey of Hope — Completed 🌟

On Thursday last week everyone gathered at the cycle track to celebrate something truly special. Rosie has officially completed her Journey of Hope, cycling the full 464 miles and raising an incredible £2,600 for Family First with her original goal being £500!

What began as a sisterly tribute has become a story that’s touched so many. Mile after mile, Rosie carried her Brave Bear at back of her bike riding for herself, for her sister and our families who knows what it means to face difficult journeys far from home.

Seeing her cross that final milestone surrounded by family, friends and supporters was a moment full of pride, love and joy!

The fund's raised from Rosie's Journey of Hope will help Family First continue supporting families who must travel off‑island for their child’s specialist care.

On World Mental Health day, we want to acknowledge the strength of the families we support. The worry, travelling, waiting and the exhaustion it all takes a toll.

Please remember you don’t have to carry everything alone. We’re here for you, with practical help and emotional support whenever you need it.

World Mental Health day is a reminder that emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical care, please remember to check in on your friends and family members and speak kindly to yourself today 💛🐻

Travelling to the mainland with a newborn baby is not like any other trip.

There is more to carry, more to think about, and far less room for anything to go wrong.

For some Jersey families, that journey happens much sooner than anyone planned.

And sometimes only one parent can be there.

Navigating an unfamiliar hospital in an unfamiliar city, alone, with a newborn, while also processing whatever has just happened medically, is an incredible amount to balance at once.

We can help cover the practical costs that make those trips more manageable. Travel, accommodation, food allowances, and the smaller costs that add up when you are far from home with your baby and not much else.

We work to source funding through our partnerships with the Jersey Children's Charity, Friends of the Jersey Neonatal Unit and the Grace Crocker Family Support Foundation.

There is no lengthy application and no threshold to meet before getting in touch.

Rosie’s Journey of Hope has officially come to an end, and we couldn’t be prouder. This incredible young woman has shown she has a heart of gold and the fundraising she's done for Family First has been phenomenal.

The money she’s raised will support families when they need us most.

A Jersey teenager has completed an incredible 464-mile cycle challenge to raise money for charity.

We are thinking of our friends at Love Beth this week.

Beth's story is a reminder how children and families sometimes have to navigate moments that feel frightening and impossibly unfair. The way Beth faced everything with courage, strength and her amazing smile says so much about who she was and how deeply she was loved by her family.

For anyone going through bone cancer treatment, or supporting a child who is, please know you’re not alone. There is help, guidance and compassion available through Bone Cancer Research Trust 🧡

🌟 Fundraising Heroes - Olivia 🌟

Today we’re celebrating Olivia, who is just 7 years old!

Last weekend Olivia ran the Standard Chartered Marathon and raised an amazing £300 for Family First. She even took her medal to school on Monday, we are so proud of her.

In 2023, Olivia's family came to us during an incredibly difficult time. When she was just 3 years old, she underwent major surgery to remove a mass in her stomach a mass holding two litres of fluid, which must have been incredibly uncomfortable and painful at times for such a little girl. She was so brave throughout her treatment, and now that she's a bit bigger and understands what happened, she’s excited to give back and support others facing tough medical journeys.

Olivia, you are a wonderful little girl with a huge heart!
Your strength, smile and determination inspire us all.

Flying into another week like Clover! 🤣

We celebrate Rosie this week as she is due to finish the final miles of her Journey of Hope! She has raised an amazing £2.5k to give back to families in Jersey!
