Tomorrow, we're handing over the microphone to Jersey's young people.

To mark the United Nations on 12 August, Jersey Overseas Aid has invited members of the Jersey Youth Assembly to take over our Instagram account for the day.

International Youth Day is an opportunity to celebrate young people, amplify their voices, and highlight the global issues that matter most to them, including education, employment and climate change. We're excited to hear their perspectives and share them with our community!

Our Malawi team has recently returned from their time working alongside community members to construct a safe, secure house for Beseida and her grandchildren, as part of the Global Village project with Habitat for Humanity Malawi and Habitat for Humanity Great Britain.

Jersey Overseas Aid's Volunteering Programme provides Islanders with the opportunity to learn about and support development projects, and experience first hand the impact of community partnership.

When JOA Executive Director Ed Lewis visited Madagascar, he saw first-hand how Jersey’s support is helping families rebuild after two devastating cyclones earlier this year. 💚

Thanks to funding from Jersey Overseas Aid and our partnership with Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust nature dependent communities are restoring homes, schools, and building stronger more resilient futures.

Protecting biodiversity requires community-led conservation. Through the REALIZE2 project in Nepal, we're supporting local people to reduce human-wildlife conflict, protect threatened species, and strengthen sustainable livelihoods. Happy ! 🐯🌿

Through our Conservation Livelihood projects, rural communities are empowered to create lasting change for themselves and the ecosystems we all depend on.
