Société Jersiaise Marine Biology Section The study and conservation of Jersey's marine environment

Current projects include marine mammal surveys, observations of changes in intertidal fauna on rocky shores, recording of changes to populations and distributions locally significant marine species and monitoring of the spread of new species arriving in the islands waters either as invasive species or through changing sea temperatures.

Crab survey 2025
We would love for you to come and get involved in the annual
crab survey at Portelet.
We will meet in the car park on Saturday 8 of November at
12:00 before heading down to the shore for a briefing.

No prior experience is needed - just some enthusiasm!
Please ensure you come with appropriate clothing and stout footwear.
There are three main roles, collection, measuring and
sexing, and recording/note taking.

It is surveys such as this one that will feed into the Jersey
State of Nature report, so it is important we keep them
going. All help gratefully received!😀

It looks like the day is a wash out, so we have made the decision to cancel the Green Island walk this afternoon.

04/09/2025

The meeting tonight (4th September) is postponed. Apologies for the short notice.
