Little Miracles

Little Miracles Providing a 'hug in a box' to families in the Jersey Neonatal Unit at Jersey General Hospital.

Little Miracles was set up to practically support parents who have a baby in the Jersey Neonatal Unit (previously called the Special Care Baby Unit) in Jersey General Hospital. Every family that has a baby admitted to the Jersey Neonatal Unit (JNU) receives 'a hug in a box' - a special keepsake box filled with gifts to help them during their stay. After spending 8 weeks with their son, Harry, in J

NU in 2011, Robin & Cirsty wanted to set up a charity to practically help other families going through a similar experience. Through their own personal experience of JNU, liaising with JNU staff and through conducting research amongst JNU parents, they decided on the contents of the care packages. Since April 2014, every family with a baby who has been admitted to JNU has received one of these precious care packages. In May 2020, Little Miracles charity decided to close down the charity and handover the collected funds to Friends of the Jersey Neonatal Unit (in a ring fenced account) to continue to provide boxes to all JNU families going forward. As both charities have worked closely together in previous years, this was a natural decision fully supported by the Jersey Charities Commission and everyone at Little Miracles are delighted that Friends of JNU have agreed to continue with this incredibly special way in which we have been supporting JNU families. Little Miracles is a very exciting project and we hope that you will continue to support Friends of JNU to help them to support these families during a very stressful and upsetting time in their lives.
