Headway Jersey is the island’s only dedicated rehabilitation day centre, supporting people after stroke, aneurysm, haemorrhage, brain tumour, or traumatic brain injury. Headway Jersey provides essential support, information & services to people in Jersey affected by a brain injury.

🍰 Cake, coffee & a challenge for Headway Jersey! 💙

Join us on Friday 28th at Barclays Banking Hall, 10am–3pm for a delicious charity cake sale organised by Ana Goncalves, a long-standing supporter and fundraiser for Headway.

Ana is raising funds for her incredible challenge, 200km across Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro in the Peaks of the Balkans, over 6 days and with a staggering 12,400m of climbing! 🏔️

Every cake purchased will help support Headway Jersey and the vital work we do for people affected by brain injury and their families.

So come along, grab a sweet treat and help Ana climb those mountains for Headway Jersey! 💙

For many islanders living with a brain injury, travelling independently is simply not possible. Loss of confidence, mobility challenges, cognitive impairments, visual issues, or balance problems can turn a simple journey into a dangerous and overwhelming barrier.

Headway’s door-to-door transport service is often the only safe link between home and the rehabilitation they urgently need.

This service is not optional. It is essential, and it keeps people out of crisis, out of isolation, and out of hospital.

📣 Research Participants Wanted – Teesside University Study

As part of my Master’s dissertation at Teesside University, I am conducting an ethically approved research study exploring the lived experiences of informal (unpaid) carers supporting someone with an acquired brain injury (ABI), traumatic brain injury (TBI), or stroke.

Participants will be invited to complete a short 7-day reflective diary (5–10 minutes per day) from the comfort of their own home, at a time that suits them.

This study has received full ethical approval, and all participation is completely voluntary and confidential.

A huge thank you to Shane Goggin
from S.G Mind and Motion Boxing for leading such an enjoyable and energising class.

Our members absolutely loved getting involved, building confidence, improving coordination, and most importantly, having fun while staying active. The smiles, determination, and positive energy in the room said it all!

The ballot for the 2027 London Marathon is now open, and next year could be extra special. Organisers are hoping to host events on both Saturday and Sunday, which means more places and more chances to get in.

The ballot closes at 4pm this Friday, so don't sit on it.

If you're lucky enough to get a place, we'd love you to run for Headway (Jersey). You'll receive our support every step of the way.
