Dyslexia Jersey Our mission is to make Jersey the first dyslexia-friendly country in the world. We offer opportunities to embrace the difference & unlock your potential.

Dyslexia Jersey campaigns for a dyslexia-friendly society where barriers to dyslexic people are significantly diminished and eventually will no longer exist. Dyslexia Jersey works to endeavour that all people with dyslexia embrace the difference and unlock their potential. To achieve this we need to educate society, create change, set standards, support and enable people with dyslexia. Dyslexia Je

rsey has a mission to make Jersey the first dyslexic-friendly country in the world and become the voice of dyslexic people in Jersey. It will listen to their views, represent their agendas and pres for long-lasting, sustainable change. Our Mission Statement:

- To promote awareness and understanding of dyslexia amongst professionals, parents, employers and the public in general.

- To provide support for concerned families and individuals and/or practical suggestions as to how to help their children or themselves.

- To work closely with the Education Department and other agencies to support developments in teaching or supporting individuals with Learning Difficulties.

- To facilitate occasions for meeting, lectures, workshops and informal events to promote awareness of dyslexia

- To raise funds in order to provide for the above

- To establish Jersey as a centre of excellence for adults and children with dyslexia

SEWING SESSIONS - Beautiful bag made at yesterdays session. We still have two spaces available for anyone that would like to join us (for ages 10 - 17 years old) . Very interesting site. There are lots of overlaps with Dyslexia as many of you will know - no two people with Dyslexia are the same and there are often other co-occuring difficulties.

The BDA are now providing a free screening for Dyslexia along with a new Dyslexia Profiling Tool via their website.

The screening tool will help determine if there is a likelihood of Dyslexia. If this is the case then a new Profiling system has been developed with a more detailed online test, providing you with a report based on your answers. There is a cost of £48 for the full Screening and Profiling service.
