Our work with the islands Emergency Services and critical infrastructure gets us in all sorts of places… we have a range of specialist drones, some especially suited to indoor tasks… see if you recognise some of these places…

Jersey’s Fire, Police and Ambulance Services are taking part in a joint exercise at Fort Regent tomorrow to test how work together in a major incident. Please don’t worry if you hear or see all the Emergency Services responding from La Collette in the morning as it’s part of the exercise.

If you thought the aliens were invading Grouville this evening don’t worry it was just us testing a new drone mounted laser system. The laser in combination with the thermal imaging camera and search lights will enhance our ability to work alongside other assets such as the islands lifeboat crews.

If we see something like a heat source that needs investigating we can point the laser at the target making it very easy for the lifeboat crew to head ti the target or visa verse if the crew see something on a cliff from the water we can activate the laser and they can easily direct us in.

I wonder if it would help with missing cats - we know how they like to chase a laser 🤣 😺

Jersey Tech Awards 2025
Well it wasn’t our night - we were shortlisted in the public sector category but the 45 strong team from the Government Digital team took to the stage for a hugely successful 2000+ staff office move, which was genuinely deserved - it was bad enough for us moving all out kit into the next door office recently when we had workman in and that’s just for 4 people!

Great evening and a pleasure to be joined by colleagues from States of Jersey Police.

This week has been the busiest since our voluntary drone team charity launched 18 months ago. We respond 24/7 to assist the islands emergency services when there is risk to life, the public, other responders and critical infrastructure. In the past 7 days we have been called out 5 times by the Police / Coastguard and carried out a further task assisting a survey of safety critical infrastructure.
