Sandra Buckley
Aged 78 years, Sandra passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 1 May, 2024 at Jersey Hospice Care, a much-loved mother. Sandra will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends.
The Club has had a number of fine Secretaries over the years and Sandra ranks as possibly one of the most energetic that we have had since the start. The Club in those days had over a hundred members and was considered to be a young Club with members equally up for the various challenges.
The Bergerac Rallies and driving through the night to get there with a quick sleep on one of the Picnic tables en route in an Aire have become legendary.
She made many friends in the M.G. world both at home and abroad and together with the Rally Committees oversaw some of our best Rallies attracting entrants from Europe in addition to the UK and local.
Although she gave up the reins some years ago, she remains a prominent figure in the history of the Club and she will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends wishing to attend the funeral service for Sandra are invited to meet at the Jersey Crematorium on Tuesday, 21 May at 11.30 am.
Please wear what you like - bright spring colours would be lovely (particularly pink/purple).
