The Volterra Project, Summer Guitar Institute is a unique and far-reaching intensive summer workshop for young classical guitarists. Conceived and directed by internationally acclaimed performer, recording artist and educator Antigoni Goni (http://www.antigonigoni.com), the workshop aims at giving to young classical guitarists not only a first class artistic instructi

on, but also an insight on the diverse needs of their future professional career: business, marketing and promotion, stage movement and skills, how to create and implement successful education programs, grant writing, and more. The 360-degree formative course offers the highest level guitar master classes, arts business management seminars, and music physiology taught by internationally renowned professionals. The nine-day workshop will be held in a beautiful agriturismo in Volterra, Tuscany, where students and teachers will live together in a relaxed, non-competitive environment.

This July, we celebrate 20 years of the Volterra Project! That means 20 editions of exchange and inspiration with more than 200 alumni from 36 different countries! The memories of friendship and beauty, however, are countless! We are celebrating this birthday with a special Symposium edition, bringing together faculty and alumni on stage and around the table! Returning for the third time to Volterra is Dušan Bogdanović- our fabulous composer in residence! Happy Birthday, Volterra Project!

This winter, we want to brighten up your days with vibrant musical memories of the past edition of the Volterra Project, ‘Double Trouble’.

Chamber music is without any doubt one of the most intimate forms of art. Now imagine chamber music played by two sisters. Now imagine them playing on original instrument from the 19th century. Do you feel the magic happening? This is the formula of the Italian Duo Savigni. We were deligjted to have Laura and Enrica with us last year, and we are happy to stay connected through a meaningful exchange between the VP and the residenze erranti, a project co-founded by Enrica.

For their live concert during the 2025 Volterra Project, they invited to the stage yet another great lady of music: Clara Schumann! Enjoy their own arrangement and interpretation of her gorgeous Romance op.22, no.2!

This winter, we want to brighten up your days with some vibrant musical memories of the past edition of the Volterra Project, ‘Double Trouble’.

Have you always been convinced that pairing the subtlety of the classical guitar with the sonorous lyricism of the cello is asking for trouble? Let duo Deseo convince you otherwise! With an impromptu flair and a unique musical energy, Ann Van Hecke and Maarten Vandenbemden reimagine Spanish and South-American music for their 10-string orchestra.

This is a live fragment from ‘Jota’, their version of the Manuel De Falla folk song , performed during their 2025 Volterra Project concert at the Palazzo dei Priori ! And while you enjoy the music, why not have a look at our website? =>www.volterraguitar.org

This winter, we want to brighten up your days with vibrant musical memories of the past edition of the Volterra Project, ‘Double Trouble’.
It doesn’t get more ‘double’ and more musical than in the musical reunion of a talented brother and sister… Luca Isolani has been part of the Volterra Project faculty for the past 10 years and for this edition invited his sister Irene to the stage. Guitar talent meets delightful singing in Duo Isolani. During their live performance at the Palazzo dei Priori, they transported the entire building to Napoli for a journey through the rich and varied repertoire of their home town!

This is Lazzarella by Pazzaglia and Modugno, from their live concert during the 2025 Volterra Project, and while you enjoy… remember that Luca is performing and teaching every year at the Volterra Project 😇

This winter, we want to lighten up your weeks with some vibrant musical memories of the past Volterra Project, ‘Double Trouble’!
Artistic director and beating heart of the Volterra Project Antigoni Goni invited our youngest faculty member, Eleonora Perretta, to the stage for a gorgeous program of folk-inspired duo music. We don’t know about the ‘trouble’, but the fun, virtuosism and musical communication were more than doubled in this encounter between two of the most inspiring ladies of the classical guitar today! Keep on ear on this duo… and remember they are both performing and teaching every July at the Volterra Project! 🥰

From their concert at the Palazzo dei Priori during the 2025 Volterra Project, this is the duo’s live performance of ‘Alfonsina y El Mar’, the famous song by Ariel Ramirez, masterfully arranged by Eleonora.

Scholarship day ✨✨✨

Today, we are excited and proud to announce Antara Dasgupta from India as our 2025 International Scholarship winner!🥇🇮🇳

Our Karagiozis/Hadjiemmanouil scholarship offers the necessary financial support for attending the VP to a promising young professional! We were very touched by Antara’s involved playing and convincing motivation letter, explaining how she wants to strengthen the Indian classical guitar community by getting in touch with the international one - a mission we’re more than glad to support!❤️

Sharing passion and inspiration, our missions in music and sharing the beauty of the classical guitar and life are at the very heart of the VP philosophy… So if you didn’t inscribe yet, May is the last inscription month for our 19th edition and we have few places left!

Check out www.volterraguitar.org for all info, and share this with everyone who loves the guitar!
