ENAC PUGLIA students completed a week-long Erasmus+ mobility in Poland and Germany as part of the HRM – Kitchen Team project—an experience that exemplifies the transformative potential of international VET training.

♻ The mobility extended to Germany, where students visited farms implementing sustainable practices and short supply chains in the Schwedt/Oder and Angermünde region. This connection between food production, environmental responsibility, and the hospitality sector is increasingly essential in modern VET curricula.

This mobility demonstrates how 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐕𝐄𝐓 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. It builds intercultural competence, global awareness, and adaptability—competencies that today's labor market demands, and that prepare young professionals not just for jobs, but for meaningful careers in an interconnected world. International collaboration in VET isn't optional—it's essential for developing the skilled, adaptable, culturally aware workforce that Europe needs.

Last month we hosted together with Learning digital an insightful session on integrating immersive learning into vocational education. The activity brought together trainers and coordinators from different VET centers to explore a fundamental question: where can immersive tools like AR, MR, and VR truly add value to training?💡

We talked about the differences between Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, and Virtual Reality—and how each serves different learning objectives;

Immersive learning as a method: learning by doing in safe, repeatable, data-rich environments and we discover a concrete use case with Mimbus Logistics, which simulates warehouse operations, teaching learners about safety zones, PPE routines, and spatial awareness in realistic scenarios.👩‍💻

The session also addressed real-world constraints—costs, cybersickness, software availability, and the fact that no simulation perfectly replaces hands-on experience. 🌌

The next step? Building a shared culture of experimentation and testing what truly works in VET contexts—together.

Our third day brought a powerful combination: learning from Europe's past and actively shaping its future!

𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 : House of European History
Students explored this immersive museum through a carefully structured collaborative learning experience:
Divided into international subgroups > Each team received worksheets guiding their exploration>30 minutes per floor with debriefing sessions
Groups took different routes.📍
Students didn't just observe history - they actively engaged with it, answering questions.💡
𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧 : From Students to Stakeholders
A meeting with MEP Brigitte Van den Berg at the European Parliament to discuss the VET Students Advisory Board!
The discussion centered on three critical areas:
🎯 Recognition - Ensuring VET degrees have equal value across all EU countries
🎯 Attractiveness - Changing perceptions about technical careers (campaigns like "De makers van morgen")
🎯 Mobility - Expanding Erasmus+ opportunities specifically for vocational learners

Our students got to ask questions, share their experiences, and understand that their voices don't just matter - they're essential to shaping policies that will affect their futures.✨
From morning's history lessons to afternoon's policy discussions, Day 3 showed students they're not just learning about democracy - they're practicing it.

Our second day took students deep into the heart of EU institutions and decision-making processes!

𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭
Students began their self-guided exploration of the 's interactive visitor center. Armed with specially designed worksheets, they discovered:
✔ How EU laws are created
✔ The role of Members of European Parliament
✔ How different countries work together
✔ The journey from citizen concerns to European legislation

This wasn't a passive museum visit - students actively engaged with exhibits, answered questions, and discussed what they learned with peers from other countries.

𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧: 𝐄𝐔 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲
After , we embarked on a guided walking tour of Brussels' European Quarter - the area where EU institutions are concentrated. Using a treasure hunt format with interactive challenges, students:
🗺️ Located key EU buildings
🔍 Solved questions about European institutions
💭 Debated real policy challenges
🏛️ Understood the physical and symbolic geography of European governance

We ended the day with a group reflection circle where students shared: "𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜𝑑𝑎𝑦?"

Getting ready for day 3!

𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐬 - 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏

Our study visit officially began with 26 VET students and 10 teachers from six European countries coming together in for the first time as one international team!

Opening Day kicked off with dynamic ice-breakers:
🤝 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 – Students made fast connections across borders, discovering commonalities and differences in just a few minutes
🏗️ 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 – Collaborative bridge and tower challenges where teams worked together on Europe's future
💭 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – Deep discussions about what democracy, diversity, resilience, sustainability and youth voice mean in today's Europe.🌎

In the afternoon, students explored Brussels differently. We organized an 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫. Students followed different routes through the neighborhood, meeting at Bockstael Square after exploring murals that address powerful themes:
Visibility & inclusion
Freedom & equality
Anti-discrimination
Solidarity & civic responsibility

At each stop, students reflected on the artwork, discussed its meaning, and participated in a photo challenge – capturing their own perspective on what these European values mean to them.💙

And this is only Day 1. Stay tuned for more! 🚀
