The deadline for abstracts for the European Biennial of Towns and Town Planners this November in Lisbon has just been extended until 26 July. So plenty of extra time to get your ideas in!
🟥 The for projects of the 15th of European Towns and Town Planners has been published by the Associação Portuguesa de Urbanistas (APU, Portuguese Association of Planners), an ECTP-CEU member and local organiser of this year’s edition of the Biennale.
The Biennale will take place in , from Wednesday 11th to Friday 13th November 2026. This year’s Workshop (separate call published on 29th May) will be fully integrated into the Biennale programme. There will also be a rich programme of social events in the evenings and planners-relevant guided tours.
🟥 Theme, tracks and sessions
This year’s theme of the Biennale is “The Lens of Time in Spatial Planning”. There will be four thematic tracks, each one with a keynote speaker and one or more parallel sessions:
1️⃣ Time of the Process (Administrative Agility)
2️⃣ Time of Ex*****on (Construction & Circularity)
3️⃣ Time of People (Sovereignty & Rhythms)
4️⃣ Time of New Frontiers (AI, Digital and Social Paradigms)

🟥 Submission fee and tickets
The submission fees and ticket prices will be published soon. There will be early-bird discounts and discounts for individual members of ECTP-CEU member organisations who are up to date with their membership fees.
