In the past days, WAMU+NET staff has been actively engaged in Paramythia, Greece, for a study visit and workshop dedicated to the development of the Extended Water Museum of the Acheron River.

The activity was implemented within the AQUATIK-EU project and organised by the Municipality of Souli with the support of WAMU+NET, bringing together partners from 10 countries for an inspiring and enriching exchange.

🌿 Day 1 took us along the pristine blue waters of the Acheron River — a place where myth, history, and ecological richness intertwine. We explored remarkable sites such as the Gates of Hades, the Acheron Springs, and the Dala Bridge.

🌍 Day 2 was dedicated to sharing knowledge and experiences from other extended and eco-museums around the world, including the Extended Water Museum of Venice, the ecomuseum of the oasis in Douiret-Sbaa (Morocco), and initiatives along the Danube River. The discussions were lively, participatory, and full of valuable insights.

We look forward to seeing how the Extended Museum of the Acheron River will take shape in the coming months — stay tuned for a dedicated webinar planned for October 2026!

🙏 A big thank you to all AQUATIK-EU partners for this meaningful exchange.

A beautiful article (in Italian) about next week's study visit in Souli, Greece, where WAMU+NET is working with the local municipality to create the extended museum of the Acheron River.

---
