Following the announcement of the final shortlist, we are pleased to present the artworks that will be exhibited during Share Prize 17th. Artworks that come from the future, in the neoclassical setting of Real Collegio San Carlo (Moncalieri), where we are collaborating with Paratissima again this year.

Share Prize will be the place to be for new contemporary tech art. We're just 25 years ahead in the timeline… ⏳️

🛰️ 2050 is getting closer...

The hourglass shakes and time winds down. We have the final shortlist of artists and artworks presented in Share Prize 17th. Our artists come and go from a future that is being realised in our days. The tech-art they have brought us has been able to speak of Tomorrow Now. Their art moves between futuristic speculation and intuition of what is contemporary and what will also be ahead. Our jury was able to grasp it, read it and intuit it.

🌐 The upcoming Share Festival will be mapping the future of tech-art.

L'Associazione The Sharing dà notizia con immensa tristezza della scomparsa della sua Presidente Chiara Garibaldi, fondatrice e vera anima di Share Festival. Chiara lascia un vuoto profondo. Il direttivo di The Sharing e il suo team operativo intendono provare a colmarlo con l'impegno di portare avanti il progetto a cui la nostra presidente si è sempre dedicata con energia e passione.

In questo momento di dolore, l'Associazione The Sharing è vicina alla famiglia di Chiara Garibaldi e ai suoi cari. Tutti coloro che hanno avuto il piacere di incontrarla o di collaborare con lei sono invitati a renderle omaggio durante la cerimonia funebre. I funerali si terranno mercoledì 11 giugno alle 12.30 presso la chiesa Gran Madre di Dio.

The Sharing Association informs with great sorrow the passing of its President Chiara Garibaldi, founder and true soul of Share Festival. Chiara leaves behind a deep void. The executive board of The Sharing and its operational team intend to attempt to fill it with the commitment to carry on the project to which our president was always dedicated with energy and passion.

We’re unhappy that she has left us, but we rejoice that she was with us so many years, and that she was so highly active, and gave so much. In the fast-paced worlds of Internet art, net.art and software art, so much changed during Chiara's career that it sometimes seemed that Chiara had several lifetimes. It’s rare to meet an art entrepreneur who is a visionary, a pioneer, and a steady hand in direction and management. During her Festival’s extensive existence, Chiara was as solid as a classic marble column, and she was the inspiration and force behind the next forthcoming Share Festival, “Tomorrow Now: The Art of 2050 AD”.

TOMORROW NOW: THE ART OF 2050 AD
👁️‍🗨️ Call for art for 17th edition of Share Prize is out now!

How close is our future to our present? How many things we are capable to guess and how many others will be completely new? These are some of the questions our artists need to ask themeselves in order to participate to our freshly-out call for art! These, and some courage and creativity to boost into one of the most speculative actions possible: trying to see what is still blurred in the days in front of us. Share Festival, in its 19th edition, is asking to its participants to take a deep look into the next quarter of century. With the words of our Artistic Director Bruce Sterling:

We simply want to see the everyday, accessible art that's popular and fully-accepted by the people who happen to live 25 years in the future. It’s not our art from 2025, it's their own art from 2050.

What's the shape of a technological artwork in 2050? Your outcomes will tell us if what is relevant will also be such in next future. Some machines are changed, some other are probably disappeared completey.
🎯 Six work of tech-art will be selected to represent the art of 2050 AD, and will be then hosted during Share Festival XIX.

To participate, please fill in the form on our website and follow the instructions.
We accept a maximum of three entries per artist or artist collective.

👁️‍🗨️ Apre la call for art for per la diciassettesima edizione di Share Prize!

Quant'è vicino il futuro? Somiglia al presente? Quali cose siamo in grado di immaginare e quante altre saranno completamente diverse? Queste sono solo alcune delle domande per lə artistə che vorranno partecipare alla nostra nuova call for art. Alcune di queste domande, e una buona dose di coraggio e creatività da mettere in una delle azioni più speculative possibile: cercare di vedere attraverso la nebbia dei giorni a ve**re. Per la sua diciannovesima edizione, Share Festival chiede allə artistə che parteciperanno alla call di sondare il prossimo quarto di secolo. Come dice il nostro direttore artistico Bruce Sterling:

Quello che vorremmo vedere è l’arte quotidiana, accessibile, popolare e pienamente riconosciuta dalle persone che vivono 25 anni nel futuro. Non è la nostra arte del 2025, è la loro arte del 2050. È l’arte del loro tempo.

Che forma ha un'opera d'arte tecnologica del 2050? I risultati che ci sottoporrete sapranno dirci se quello che è rilevante oggi lo sarà anche nel prossimo futuro. Alcune macchine saranno cambiate, molte saranno scomparse definitivamente.
🎯 Sei opere verranno scelte e esposte a Share Festival XIX per rappresentare l'arte del 2050.

“Love Letters without the Recipient”, di Ziyao Lin, vince la XVI edizione di Share Prize - ALL-Natural.

L’opera sposa espressività artistica, AI e filosofia orientale in una sola installazione. Una macchina da scrivere diretta da un software generativo scrive effimere lettere d’amore in uno scenario naturale. Proiezione della vacuità del desiderio umano, queste lettere parlano di tematiche Zen come l’impermanenza e l’auto-connessione. La natura, e non la psiche, danno risonanza a quelle che sarebbero altrimenti emozioni prive di scopo.

“Love Letters without the Recipient” by Ziyao Lin wins the XVI edition of the Share Prize - ALL-Natural.
The work combines artistic expressiveness, AI, and Eastern philosophy in a single installation. A typewriter, driven by generative software, composes ephemeral love letters in a natural setting. These letters reflect the emptiness of human desire, addressing Zen themes such as impermanence and self-connection. Nature, rather than the psyche, gives resonance to what would otherwise be aimless emotions.
