Nel 2010 il terremoto che ha colpito Haiti ha distrutto milioni di abitazioni. Dopo 5 anni l'emergenza abitativa non è ancora stata risolta. a, finora ritenuta uno scarto dell'agricoltura e ampiamente disponibile a costo zero, può diventare un valido materiale edile, così come avviene in altri Stati. La balla di paglia, oltre a permettere di realizzare edifici in muratura auto-portante sostenibili, è anche una potenziale fonte di reddito alternativa per le comunità rurali locali. Anpil Pay 2.0 si basa sulle esperienze dei tesisti e delle associazioni partners per dare un contributo reale allo sviluppo della filiera della paglia.

In 2010 the earthquake that struck Haiti has destroyed millions of homes. After 5 years the housing emergency has not yet been resolved. The project "Re-starting from the straw", proposed by two undergraduates of Politecnico di Torino, and the first to focus on this material as one of the possible solutions. The straw, hitherto considered to be a rejection of the agriculture is widely available at zero cost, can become a valuable construction material, as is the case in other States. Straw bales, as well as useful to create sustainable buildings by a load bearing system, is also a potential alternative source of income for the local rural communities. Anpil Pay 2.0 is based on the experiences of undergraduates and associations partners to make a real contribution to the development of the straw production chain.
