Despite the cancellation of the 2026 meeting in Australia due to the global geopolitical crisis, the worldwide EE community continues to move forward with strength, commitment, and vision.

From 2026 to 2028, new initiatives, partnerships, and publications are coming to keep building a global space for dialogue, research, and action on environment and sustainability.

As part of the 13th World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC), delegates are invited to take part in immersive On Country Activations on Monday 21 September 2026, across Western Australia.

These experiences offer a unique opportunity to connect with Country, explore diverse terrestrial and marine ecosystems, and gain practical insights into how knowledge systems and educational approaches are applied to nurture environmental stewardship, now and for future generations.

Designed through a Country-centred approach, the 13th WEEC reflects the deep relationship between people, place, and education, grounded in the Australian context and the enduring knowledge of First Nations communities.

Environmental education at WEEC 2026 is not only about learning about nature, but about learning with Country—fostering meaningful connections with land, waters, ecosystems, and communities.

Day 1 – Field Trips to Experience Country

Are you a student or an environmental education professional from a Low or Middle-Income Country (LMIC)? This is your opportunity to take part in a global event dedicated to environmental education and sustainability.

The Scholarship Program supports participation in the 13th World Environmental Education Congress, fostering global collaboration and knowledge exchange in environmental education.
