Wihogora, the House of Smiles, was born in Rwanda – a country that still carries the deep scars of the 1994 genocide, the violence and sexual abuse that shattered families and still weigh on the lives of many women and their children.
In this context, every young mother we meet brings a story of vulnerability, exclusion and pain – and a huge need for listening, protection and real opportunities.
With the Wihogora project, we try to respond exactly to this: welcoming, supporting, training and opening up a possible future for around 200 young mothers and their children every year.
The project supports vocational training, scholarships, early childhood care, psychosocial support and home visits, helping families rebuild trust, autonomy and dignity.
A special thank you to ZATO, whose support has made this project possible.
