Associazione Habibi

The BARAKA Project, funded by the Swiss Embassy in Jordan, provides a safe and supportive environment where women can develop their skills, unlock their potential, and pursue meaningful economic opportunities.

Implemented through different phases focusing on agriculture and food production, the cheese production component of the project offers hands-on training in Italian cheese-making techniques in Al Wala, Madaba. By combining locally sourced ingredients with Italian expertise, the project supports the creation of high-quality dairy products while equipping participants with practical, market-oriented skills.

Through this approach, BARAKA contributes to strengthening the local economy, promoting entrepreneurship, and creating pathways towards employment and greater self-reliance.

Since the beginning of the project, 3 beneficiaries of the cheese production component have launched their own businesses, using the skills and experience gained through the programme to build sustainable livelihoods.

Switzerland and Habibi remain committed to supporting vocational education and skills development in Jordan, empowering empower people to build sustainable livelihoods.

We’re excited to share that the BARAKA Project, supported through our partnership with the Swiss Embassy in Jordan (), hosted another focus group last week dedicated to hearing directly from our cheese production trainees. The session was highly productive, and we’re grateful to HAMSA for their support in making the event a success. We are now looking forward to launching the next round of agricultural trainings and cheese production sessions in the coming weeks. Moreover, we are especially encouraged by the positive impact the BARAKA Project has already had on participants’ lives and the sustainability measures being built into operations at the Wadi Al Walah Agricultural Station. Stay on the lookout for future updates and photos from our BARAKA training sessions!
