LENI - GERMANY 🇩🇪 - 17 YEARS OLD

🇩🇪 Hello everyone,

Before the camp started, I spent two weeks with a wonderful host family in Manfredonia. I was really lucky with them. We went to the beach almost every day, enjoyed Italian food, and they showed me many beautiful places in the area. We talked a lot, and I really felt like a part of their family. These two weeks were already a very special time for me.

Then the camp week began, and it was another amazing experience. During the week we visited so many beautiful towns and cities like Taranto, Alberobello, Matera and Barletta. Every day we saw something new, and I learned a lot about this region of Italy. We also had time to relax at the hotel and at the pool, and in the evenings we had dinner together and fun parties.

What I enjoyed most was meeting so many new people from different countries. It was so nice to get to know everyone, to share stories about our lives, and to see how different but also how similar we all are. We laughed so much together, and I know I will always remember these moments.

VERONIKA - UKRAINE 🇺🇦 (Sponsored by Netherlands) - 17 Years Old

🇬🇧 This was my first time in Italy, and thanks to the Lions Youth Exchange Program, I had the chance to discover and enjoy this beautiful country. I really fell in love with the Italian culture. It’s something I’ll always remember and take with me.

I’m very thankful to my host families for making me feel at home from the very beginning. You welcomed me with warmth and kindness, and I truly felt like a part of your family. I am very grateful to you for this

I also want to thank the camp leaders for all the effort you put into making this program so great. Even though I know you were tired, you still stayed positive and helped us enjoy every day. We had really a lot of fun activities thanks to your hard work.

And of course, I’m very happy that I met such amazing people here. Spending time with you all was a pleasure and I’ve made memories that I’ll never forget.

🇬🇧 Hello everyone,
Spending time in Italy has been a really unique experience. I’ve had a lot of fun and I’ve learned a lot. I’ve learned about the culture, the language, and even about myself.

One of the best parts was meeting new people. thank you to my friends for making things more fun, for being kind, and for helping me feel a little more at home.

I’ll definitely remember this time and everything it taught me.

Trascorrere del tempo in Italia è stata un’esperienza davvero unica. Mi sono divertita molto e ho imparato tanto. Ho imparato sulla cultura, sulla lingua e persino su me stessa.

Una delle parti migliori è stata conoscere nuove persone. Grazie ai miei amici per aver reso le cose più divertenti, per la loro gentilezza e per avermi aiutata a sentirmi un po’ più a casa.

🇬🇧Hi everyone,
I just want to say thank you for this special experience. The last three weeks were an absolute new experience for me and at first I didn’t know what to expect. After these three weeks I am glad that I chose to come here because I made memories, that I will never forget. My two host families were the kindest people ever and I will forever be grateful to have met them.

One of the things I’m most grateful for is the friends I’ve made during this camp. You made me laugh, feel welcome, and I’ll always remember the fun times we had together. I didn’t expect to connect with people so quickly, and I’m really happy I did.

So thank you to everyone who was part of this journey – my lovely host family, the organizers, and of course, all of my friends. I’ll take a lot of great memories home with me.

Il Campo Apulia Italo Ladisa 2024/2025 si è concluso con la tradizionale Cerimonia delle Bandiere, presieduta dal Direttore del Campo Imma Montanaro e condotta con grande maestria dai Cerimonieri Aldo Strada (LC Ginosa Le Gravine) e Daniela Di Lecce (Leo Club Massafra Mottola Le Cripte), nella suggestiva cornice di Masseria Delprete, base del Campo.

A presiedere il tavolo della Cerimonia, il Governatore dell’anno Lionistico 2024/2025 Emanuele Tató, il I Vice Governatore Giuseppe D’Aprile, il Vice Presidente del Distretto Leo Andrea Ricupero e lo YCEC Vincenzo Bruno.

Protagonisti della serata, i 17 ragazzi partecipanti, provenienti da Giappone, Canada, Messico, Turchia, Transnistria, Finlandia, Norvegia, Danimarca, Germania, Austria, Ucraina, USA e Italia.

Ospite d’eccezione, l’on. Vito De Palma, deputato del Collegio.

Alla Cerimonia, seguita da una serata conviviale, hanno preso parte numerosi Presidenti di Club Lions e Leo, soci, gli sponsor che hanno contribuito alla riuscita del campo, amici e famiglie ospitanti, contribuendo a rendere questo momento conclusivo ancora più speciale.

🇬🇧 Day 6: Saturday, July 26th, 2025

The Campo Apulia Italo Ladisa 2024/2025 concluded with the traditional Flag Ceremony, presided over by the Camp Director Imma Montanaro and expertly conducted by the Ceremonial Officers Aldo Strada (LC Ginosa Le Gravine) and Daniela Di Lecce (Leo Club Massafra Mottola Le Cripte), in the evocative setting of Masseria Delprete, the camp’s home base.

At the head table of the Ceremony sat the Governor of the 2024/2025 Lions Year Emanuele Tató, First Vice Governor Giuseppe D’Aprile, Vice President of the Leo District Andrea Ricupero, and YCEC Vincenzo Bruno.

Taking center stage were the 17 young participants from Japan, Canada, Mexico, Turkey, Transnistria, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, the USA, and Italy.

Guest of honor was Hon. Vito De Palma, Member of Parliament for the district.

The Ceremony, followed by a convivial evening, welcomed numerous Lions and Leo Club Presidents, members, sponsor, friends, and host families, all contributing to make this closing moment truly special.

🇮🇹 Giorno 5: venerdì 25 luglio 2025
Il penultimo giorno del Campo ci siamo recati a Barletta, la città del Governatore 2024/2025 Emanuele Tató il quale, unitamente al Sindaco, all’Amministrazione Comunale, ed al Lions Club Barletta Host ci ha accolti presso il Palazzo di Città.

Dopo i saluti istituzionali, abbiamo visitato il Teatro Curci, immergendoci nella sfarzosa sala ottocentesca. Successivamente la visita al Castello, per poi condividere il momento del pranzo con i soci del Club Barletta Host.

Nel pomeriggio il Campo ha fatto tappa al suggestivo Castel del Monte, edificato per volere di Federico II di Svevia, e caratterizzato dalla sua originale geometria ottagonale del complesso centrale e delle torri.

La giornata si è conclusa con un pool party al rientro in hotel.

🇬🇧 Day 5: July 25, 2025
On the penultimate day of the Camp, we visited Barletta, the city of the 2024/2025 District Governor, Emanuele Tató, who, together with the Mayor, the City Administration, and the Lions Club Barletta Host, welcomed us at the City Hall.

After the official greetings, we visited the Curci Theatre, immersing ourselves in its lavish 19th-century hall. This was followed by a tour of the Castle, and then we shared lunch with members of the Barletta Host Club.

In the afternoon, the Camp continued with a visit to the striking Castel del Monte, built at the behest of Frederick II of Swabia and known for its unique octagonal geometry of both the central structure and its towers.

The day ended with a pool party upon returning to the hotel.

🇮🇹 Giorno 4: giovedì 24 Luglio 2025
La giornata è iniziata con la visita a bordo di un pullman turistico a Matera. La prima tappa è stata dedicata alla visita degli antichi insediamenti neolitici e medioevali tra chiese scavate nella roccia e fosse difensive.
A seguire, il tour si è spostato nei celebri Sassi di Matera, riconosciuti come Patrimonio dell’Umanità UNESCO, dove i ragazzi grazie alla guida hanno potuto apprezzare la bellezza del paese.

Dopo la visita, il gruppo si è diretto a Gravina in Puglia, accolto dal Lions Club Puglia Scambi Giovanili. Qui, i ragazzi hanno pranzato tutti assieme.

Nel pomeriggio, hanno avuto l’opportunità di visitare il museo della Fondazione Ettore Pomarici Tomasi. La visita si è conclusa con l’attraversamento del suggestivo ponte di Gravina, noto anche per essere stato una delle location principali del film di James Bond e con la visita del centro della città.

La giornata si è conclusa, dopo una cena presso Masseria del Prete, con un waikiki party, i ragazzi si sono divertiti ballando tutti assieme con collane e gonne hawaiane.

🇮🇹 Giorno 3: Mercoledì 23 Luglio 2025
Dopo una mattinata di riposo e relax a , nel pomeriggio i ragazzi del campo si sono diretti a Castellaneta (Ta), dove accolti dalla Presidente e dalle socie del Club Lions di Castellaneta , hanno fatto una visita nel centro storico ed al museo della Ferrovia ed Archeologia Industriale.

Il gruppo si è poi diretto a Ginosa (Ta). Dopo i saluti istituzionali con il Sindaco della Città di Ginosa ed i Soci del Lions Club Ginosa “Le Gravine”, tenuti all’ombra del centenario “Ulivo Pensante”, il gruppo è sceso nella gravina per una suggestiva escursione e relativa visita alle grotte.

Al termine dell’escursione, i ragazzi si sono cimentati nel fare la pasta a mano in un laboratorio di orecchiette, per poi degustarle tutti insieme.

Obbligatoria è stata la visita all’antico forno di Peppino Piccolo a Ginosa, che ha sorpreso i ragazzi organizzando una vera festa di paese in strada e raccontando loro antiche storie e ricordi d’infanzia.

Un ringraziamento va anche al Lions Club Massafra Mottola “Le Cripte” per aver contribuito alla riuscita delle attività della giornata.

🇮🇹 Giorno 2: Martedì 22 Luglio 2025
Il secondo giorno del Campo ha avuto inizio con la visita al Castello Svevo di Gioia del Colle (Ba), ospiti del Lions Club Gioia del Colle Host Terra dei Peucezi, del Lions Club Gioia del Colle - Putignano Monte Johe e del Leo Club Gioia del Colle Stupor Mundi.

Successivamente i ragazzi e lo Staff sono stati accolti presso il Palazzo di Città dal Sindaco e da alcuni rappresentanti dell’Amministrazione Comunale che hanno illustrato loro le principali attività produttive e turistiche della città di Gioia del Colle.

Nel pomeriggio, il Campo si è spostato ad Alberobello, accompagnati dal Socio Lions Luciano Mallima ed i ragazzi hanno potuto ammirare il panorama pittoresco dei trulli e visitarli.

Al rientro in hotel, la giornata si è conclusa con la cena a tema “White Party”

The second day of the Camp began with a visit to the Castello Svevo in Gioia del Colle (Ba), hosted by the Lions Club Gioia del Colle Host Terra dei Peucezi, the Lions Club Gioia del Colle - Putignano Monte Johe, and the Leo Club Gioia del Colle Stupor Mundi.

Afterwards, the participants and staff were welcomed at the City Hall by the Mayor and some representatives of the Municipal Administration, who presented the main economic and tourism activities of the city of Gioia del Colle.

In the afternoon, the Camp moved to Alberobello, accompanied by Lions member Luciano Mallima, where the participants had the chance to admire the picturesque landscape of the trulli and visit them.

Back at the hotel, the day ended with a “White Party”-themed dinner.

Today, the Camp visited Taranto, hosted by the Lions Clubs of the Ionian city.

After a tour of the Aragonese Castle, which serves as a base for the Italian Navy, we walked through the streets of Old Taranto, the historic center of the city, and visited the Cathedral of Saint Cataldo.

The evening concluded with a dinner featuring traditional local dishes, shared with the Lions and Leo Club members of Taranto.

🇮🇹Giorno 1: Lunedì 21 Luglio
Durante la giornata di oggi, il Campo si è recato a Taranto, ospite dei Lions Clubs della città Ionica.

Dopo la visita del Castello Aragonese, base della Marina Militare Italiana, abbiamo percorso le strade di Taranto vecchia, il centro storico della Città, visitando la Cattedrale di Cataldo.

La serata si è conclusa con una cena a base di piatti tipici insieme ai Soci Lions e Leo di Taranto.
