Amal for Education APS AMAL for Education APS is a non profit organization operatong in international development

We believe that education is your freedom, that it should be democratic, open, diverse and give equal opportunities to girls and boys, women and men. We start from the underprivileged in areas of conflict and poverty but we aim at widening access to all forms of education and support in a broad sense all over the world. We believe in building a society coexistence, solidarity, inclusion and respec

t. Our key is to listen to people’s needs to develop their potential: we have two ears and one mouth to remember that listening is more important than speaking. Amal for Education starts from the conviction that the first step in acquiring one's autonomy, for the pursuit of one's own happiness and personal fulfillment and growth, of the faculty to understand others is in the possibility of carrying out one's own study path and in seeking his own way to interpret the world. We achieve this both by creating safe spaces for communities, by developing open and diverse teaching aids and methodologies, by research and training and by making all these tools available for free to all.

As part of the project supporting communities affected by the earthquakes in Türkiye, funded by Caritas Italiana, AIYD organizes educational sessions for children at its Kilis community centre, addressing topics related to personal and environmental hygiene.

Through age-appropriate explanations and interactive activities, participants explore different aspects of hygiene, including personal, household and environmental practices. Children are invited to write down their ideas and share them with their peers, creating opportunities for discussion and participation.

These sessions introduce practical concepts related to everyday hygiene and encourage children to reflect on how individual practices relate to the environments in which they live.

Every meaningful story begins with preparation. As part of the ROOTS project, Aleyna and Raziye in Rome are leading the creation of a multilingual archive of resources in Italian, English, and Arabic, bringing together practical toolkits, participatory journalism materials, and an extensive bibliography.

This shared archive will support future workshops, international mobilities, editorial meetings, and youth participation activities across the project. More than a collection of resources, it is a space where knowledge is organized, shared, and made accessible for everyone involved.

By connecting citizen journalism, storytelling, and democratic participation, ROOTS encourages young people to document their communities, amplify local voices, and co-create new narratives about the places they live.

This is just the beginning of a long-term participatory editorial journey—one built through collaboration, shared learning, and community engagement.
