Amal for Education APS AMAL for Education APS is a non profit organization operatong in international development

We believe that education is your freedom, that it should be democratic, open, diverse and give equal opportunities to girls and boys, women and men. We start from the underprivileged in areas of conflict and poverty but we aim at widening access to all forms of education and support in a broad sense all over the world. We believe in building a society coexistence, solidarity, inclusion and respec

t. Our key is to listen to people’s needs to develop their potential: we have two ears and one mouth to remember that listening is more important than speaking. Amal for Education starts from the conviction that the first step in acquiring one's autonomy, for the pursuit of one's own happiness and personal fulfillment and growth, of the faculty to understand others is in the possibility of carrying out one's own study path and in seeking his own way to interpret the world. We achieve this both by creating safe spaces for communities, by developing open and diverse teaching aids and methodologies, by research and training and by making all these tools available for free to all.

ROOTS – Representations Of Ourselves in Transforming Spaces is a new two-year international project coordinated by Amal for Education APS, developed in partnership with Amal İnsani Yardım Derneği (Türkiye) and Josoor al Amal (Bridges of Hope – Syria).

The project is co-funded by the European Union through the Agenzia Italiana per la Gioventù.

ROOTS focuses on identity, belonging, displacement, youth participation, and local democratic engagement through the tools of citizen journalism and participatory storytelling.

Through workshops, media production activities, collective narratives, and community-based initiatives, the project aims to support young people in representing their own experiences and realities, while strengthening critical thinking, communication skills, and active participation within their local contexts.

ROOTS creates opportunities for young participants to reflect on how identities are shaped in transforming social spaces and how storytelling can become a tool for dialogue, visibility, and community engagement across different countries and experiences.
