🤖📚The Marist Global Network of Schools holds the fourth Champagnat Global Week, dedicated to artificial intelligence, education and humanity. Marist educators from around the world will reflect on how to place this technology at the service of the person and of an education that leaves no one behind.

On 𝟯𝟬 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 FMSI NGO and Red Marista de Solidaridad Internacional (RMSI)will lead a session on how AI can help make education more human, fair and transformative, opening new opportunities for children and young people in conditions of vulnerability.

👉When girls lack information or materials to manage their period, they often miss school and lose confidence. That is why 647 Marist students took part in a menstrual health programme led by four health professionals.

𝗘𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀.

It is one step in a wider project helping adolescent girls grow in confidence, safety and leadership, because empowering girls means making sure they can learn with dignity. 🌍

𝟲𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗡 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹

📣In Geneva, FMSI co-signed a joint statement, delivered by Child Rights Connect, calling on States to protect the 𝗨𝗡 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀, including the Committee on the Rights of the Child. The statement asks for sustainable funding, meaningful civil society participation and accessible digital tools.

Rooted in the Marist mission, FMSI accompanies Marist students as they bring their realities to the United Nations. For their voices to count, these spaces must stay open.

🇲🇬 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿, 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿.

📆 On Saturday 3 October, Marist students decorated their meeting space and ended the day with a photo session: a first step in shaping a place that feels like their own, safe and welcoming for all.

🤝 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯𝘀 are school-based spaces where young people learn about their rights, grow as leaders and take action in their community, as part of a growing network where their voices are heard.

"𝗖𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘀 𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮, 𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗲́𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘀 𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗮".🌱

En Yucatán, México, alumnos y alumnas Maristas en colaboración con la Universidad Marista de Mérida preparan la tierra, siembran, riegan y cosechan jitomates, acelgas y cilantro en el huerto de su escuela. Aprenden paciencia, cuidado y trabajo en equipo. Y descubren que los insectos no son enemigos, sino aliados.
El video lo llama "𝗱𝗲́𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘇𝗮, 𝗱𝗲́𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗲 𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶́𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂": la desconexión cada vez más profunda entre las nuevas generaciones y el mundo natural. Un huerto escolar es "un acto de amor y de resistencia". Es "devolverle a la infancia su derecho a tocar la vida".

In Yucatán, Mexico, Marist students in collaboration with the Universidad Marista de Mérida prepare the soil, plant seeds, water them, and harvest tomatoes, chard and coriander in their school garden. They learn patience, care and teamwork. And they discover that insects are not enemies, but allies.

The video calls it "𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁, 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁": the growing distance between young people and the natural world. A school garden is "an act of love and resistance". It gives childhood back its right to touch life.

Au Liban, 872 enfants et jeunes accueillis au centre socio-éducatif Fratelli, à Rmeileh, bénéficient trois fois par semaine d’une aide alimentaire, dans le cadre d’un projet soutenu par le BICE. Gérée par les Frères des Écoles chrétiennes et les Frères maristes, la structure offre un accompagnement scolaire et psychosocial à des enfants issus de familles réfugiées syriennes et palestiniennes, ainsi que de familles libanaises fragilisées par la crise économique.

Dans un contexte où de nombreux foyers peinent à satisfaire leurs besoins essentiels, cette aide contribue au bien-être et au développement des enfants. Une alimentation suffisante les rend aussi plus disponibles pour apprendre : les enseignants constatent d’ailleurs une meilleure attention et une participation accrue en classe.

Au-delà de l’aide alimentaire, le centre constitue pour les élèves un lieu d’apprentissage et de stabilité. « Fratelli ne m’a pas seulement donné des compétences, il m’a rendu ma dignité et une raison de me lever tôt chaque matin, avec un objectif », témoigne l’un des jeunes.

Los días 𝟮𝟮 𝘆 𝟮𝟯 𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗯𝗿𝗲 se realizará el webinar "Gestión de proyectos y captación de fondos en las instituciones educativas maristas", parte de la serie impulsada por el Consejo Internacional de Asuntos Económicos y la Oficina del Ecónomo General del Instituto Marista.

El encuentro ofrecerá una reflexión sobre cómo la gestión estratégica de proyectos, la construcción de alianzas y la diversificación de las fuentes de financiación pueden fortalecer el impacto de las obras educativas y sociales Maristas, especialmente al servicio de los niños, niñas y jóvenes en situación de vulnerabilidad.

🧵 Skills Development and Livelihood Opportunities in Koumra, Chad

The dressmaking programme at the Centre Culturel Champagnat in Koumra has come to an end, and the girls who took part have now received their certificates and sewing kits, each with a sewing machine and its accessories.

Over six months, they built practical skills in sewing and garment production.
They also received training in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, women's rights and personal development.

These tools are a first concrete investment in their future. They will let the girls put what they have learned into practice and start income-generating activities beyond the training centre. 🙏

In the spirit of the Marist mission, we celebrate the commitment of these young women and the dignity of work they are building with their own hands.

Our heartfelt thanks to BICE - Bureau International Catholique de l'Enfance and Cuore Amico Fraternità Ets for supporting this journey and believing in the potential of these girls. 🤝
