Care doesn’t stop with age—it grows stronger.
The 2025 Margot Tambè Award-winning project “Women who spin wisdom and weave transformation” supports 30 grandmothers in Bogotá who are raising their grandchildren in the face of hardship. Through this initiative, they are finding community, strength, and renewed purpose through shared stories, new skills, and unwavering support.

Recently, the Blue Marists of Aleppo, the Solidarity Team of the Norandina Province, and FMSI met to share stories, reflect on their work, and celebrate the project.

The initiative was created to uplift these caregivers. the award recognizes its meaningful impact while honoring Margot Tambè, a woman who dedicated her life to serving others with compassion and courage.

From Aleppo to Bogotá, this is what solidarity looks like:

A significant step in a growing international mobilization for children's rights. 📣

On May 13th, during the Papal Audience at St. Peter's Square, a coalition of organizations delivered a letter to Pope Leo XIV calling for an Apostolic Exhortation dedicated to children — accompanied by drawings made by the children themselves. The letter was also formally presented to the Dicastery for Culture and Education and the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life.

The Centro Marista de Defesa da Infância was among those who made this moment possible, alongside Instituto Alana, Núcleo Lux Mundi – CRB, and the Coalizão Brasileira pelo Fim da Violência contra Crianças e Adolescentes. 🤝

FMSI also endorsed the letter, faithful to the Marist mission of placing children — especially those in the most marginalized conditions — at the center of both ecclesial and institutional action.
