Intersection for the Arts
All the photos we have here belonged to someone until the fateful day, March 11th 2011. This fundraising exhibit originated from “The Project Salvage Memory” sta
rted by a team of young researchers, who felt the need to return the photographs which were swept by the tsunami to their owners. What we have here are the photos recovered but damaged beyond recognition rendering them un-returnable. We believe these photos have powerful messages of the untold stories that any other media failed to impart. We are collecting donations at the exhibit for one of the affected areas, Yamamoto in Miyagi Prefecture, where these photos were recovered. PAST EXHIBITION:

LOST & FOUND PROJECTは、東日本大震災で被災してしまった写真を見てもらうためにスタートしました。
テレビや新聞やwebは、それぞれの方法で地震と津波により起きたことの一部分を伝えてくれました。しかし当然ながらすべてを伝えることはできません。それぞれに得意な領域があり、こぼれ落ちていく情報があります。そのひとつが津波に襲われながら生き残り、またはいなくなってしまった人たちの声無き気配のようなものではないでしょうか。
この写真達を見ていると、否が応でもそこに思いを馳せることになります。そのことは今、そしてこれからも生きていく私たちにとっても大切なことであるはずです。
展示場ではこれらの写真が拾われた被災地、山元町へ送る寄付金のご協力を募っています。
