🏔️ Mountains are full of life.

They host about half of the world’s biodiversity hotspots and are home to unique species, cultures and knowledge systems.

On the International Day for Biological Diversity, this year’s theme – “Acting locally for global impact” – is a reminder that protecting mountain biodiversity starts with local action, but its benefits reach far beyond the slopes.

Through implementation and collaboration, Mountain Partnership members work together to advance the global mountain agenda and support mountain communities in protecting biodiversity, sustaining livelihoods and building a more resilient future.
