SACRILEGE IN ROME.

With profound sorrow, Cardinal Baldassare Reina, Vicar General of His Holiness for the Diocese of Rome, has released a letter to the faithful, informing them of this sacrilege:

The Tabernacle containing the Blessed Sacrament was stolen from the Chapel of Aurelia Hospital in Rome on Wednesday.

Cardinal Reina invites the faithful to offer prayers and reparation to God at Sunday Mass tomorrow for this “offense against the Eucharist.”

He called for renewal of faith in the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Eucharist and for utmost vigilance in holy places.

He also prayed that the Lord will touch the hearts of those who committed this sacrilege so that they will recognize the gravity of the evil they have done, sincerely repent, and embark on a path of conversion.

Pope Leo has blessed the recently-completed central tower of the Sagrada Família Basilica in Barcelona.

After speaking about religious freedom, conscience, widespread disregard for human rights, escalating conflict, and deepening polarization to the Spanish Parliament, numbering more than 600 lawmakers, the legislators broke ranks and gave a standing ovation to Pope Leo for a historic 7-minute.

The Pope kept waiving his hand to get them to stop clapping; but they refused!😄

I think that Pope Leo is really in touch with the spiritual crisis that many young people are facing in today’s world.

Aboard the papal plane from Rome to Madrid earlier today, Christopher Lamb, the Vatican correspondent for CNN, asked the Pope what he thought about the number of young people showing interest in the faith.

In his response, Pope Leo made reference to the concert that Bad Bunny has tonight in Madrid:

“If they [young people] are confronted with the question: do they want to see Bad Bunny or do they want to see the Pope, I think many will go to see Bad Bunny. But I think there will also be a few here to see the pope. And that too says something, you know.”

Leo added that “young people are looking for something more, having grown up in many cases without that, if you will, spiritual dimension in their lives, they realize there’s an emptiness, and there’s a lack of a sense of meaning, and perhaps my visiting has helped to awaken even further something, that they are even not sure how they might define.”

Vatican News: 28 new recruits into the Pontifical Swiss Guard

The pontifical Swiss Guard was established in 1506 under Pope Julius II. The Swiss Guard is one of the oldest military in the world. They take oaths to protect the Pope and the Vatican even with their lives.

To be a Swiss Guard, you must be male, Catholic, Swiss citizen, single, between 19 and 30 years old, and at least 1.74 meters tall.

You must also have completed basic military training with the Swiss Armed Forces.
