🌍 Strengthening Africa-Europe value chains through responsible sourcing
At the European Sustainable Industry Summit, RES4Africa Foundation and CSR Europe convened a high-level Leadership Roundtable on “Due Diligence for Responsible Materials Sourcing and Local Value Chain Creation.” 🤝

The discussion brought together African and European stakeholders to explore a key question: how can Europe secure resilient access to raw materials while creating greater local value, industrial capacity, jobs and skills in African sourcing countries? 🌱⚙️

Using the international trade corridors as a practical reference point, participants discussed how to move beyond extraction and build more resilient and mutually beneficial value chains through:
🔹 A new Africa-Europe collaboration — connecting Europe’s materials supply needs with opportunities for local economic and industrial development. 🤝🏭
🔹 Turning due diligence into value — using responsible sourcing and supplier engagement not only as compliance tools, but also to support investment readiness, competitiveness and local value creation. 📈✅💡

The roundtable featured contributions from Benitha Tambwe, Ministère des Mines - RDC; Elisabetta Sartorel, European Commission, DG INTPA; Roberto Vigotti, Secretary General of RES4Africa Foundation; and representatives from across the private sector, investment community and civil society. 🌐

🌍 GreenUp Morocco – Celebrating innovation for Morocco’s energy transition

We were proud to join the GreenUp Morocco Award Ceremony, held on 26 September in Ben Guerir, on the sidelines of the Université d’Été 2026 of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development - Kingdom of Morocco, celebrating participating startups and four winning ventures contributing to sustainable development and the energy transition.🏆

The Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development of the Kingdom of Morocco, RES4Africa Foundation, Enel Foundation, and UM6P - University Mohammed VI Polytechnic launched GreenUp Morocco, with IRESEN - Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies as technical partner. It supports start-ups through training, mentoring, coaching and access to experts, investors and institutional partners.🤝🎓

For RES4Africa, supporting local talent, entrepreneurship and skills is key to an inclusive and sustainable energy transition. GreenUp Morocco connects knowledge, innovation and opportunities, strengthening human capital and entrepreneurial ecosystems across the sector.🌍⚡

RES4Africa concludes the Workshop on Tariff Ceiling Model Governance & PPA Templates in Mozambique!

Held in Maputo on 17–18 September, the workshop marked a new phase of collaboration with ARENE under the Policy & Regulatory Assistance Programme (PRAP) 2025–2026, building on the work carried since 2024.

With the technical support of Grupo Mercados Energéticos Consultores (GME Group and GSE (Gestore Servizi Energetici), the two-day programme focused on the governance and institutionalisation of the Reference Tariff Ceiling Model and on a draft standardised renewable energy PPA and risk allocation matrix.

Through technical discussions and hands-on exercises, participants contributed directly to the development of the proposed regulatory and contractual instruments.

The initiative was carried out by RES4Africa Foundation, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and GSE (Gestore Servizi Energetici), with the support of the Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale and Enel Foundation.

Another step forward in strengthening transparent and robust regulatory frameworks for Mozambique’s renewable energy sector. ⚡🌍

Africa’s clean energy transition is being shaped by a new generation of innovators — and we are excited to introduce the six innovative entrepreneurs selected for the third edition of RAISEAfrica – Renewables Accelerator for Innovative Startups and Entrepreneurs in Africa.

The programme is developed by RES4Africa Foundation, with the support of Enel Green Power and the European Investment Bank (EIB) , and in collaboration with EY Foundation, EDP Renewables, and SAICA Enterprise Development.

From solar hybrid systems and micro-hydropower to circular solutions for EV batteries, sustainable agriculture, cold storage, and clean energy for healthcare, this year’s cohort is developing practical solutions to some of the continent’s most pressing challenges.
