Today we're sharing an article from the United Nations, which states that in 2024 gender equality remains elusive across the globe.

According to the latest findings, it will take around 134 years to close the gender gap worldwide. This alarming statistic highlights persistent inequalities in various sectors, from education and health to economic participation and political empowerment.

Currently, Political Empowerment is the largest of four gender gaps at only 22.5% closed, according to the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2024. The majority of the top 10 most gender-equal countries are in Europe, with Ireland and Spain re-entering the top 10 this year.

The final press conference to present the European Erasmus+ E-Quality project took place today in Rome, at Palazzo Valentini, headquarters of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, a project financed by the European Community which involved ALI, Italian Local Autonomies, and the The Women association, a network of local authorities and women's associations based in Emilia Romagna, as partners of the project.
