Well beyond the "Star Wars", so often fanned by the Gastronomic guides, can be found the "Club des Chefs des Chefs", personal cooks to Kings, Princes, and Presidents. The Club des Chefs des Chefs (C.C.C), the most exclusive gastronomic association in the world, was founded in 1977, in Collonges au Mont d’Or, at Paul Bocuse’s home, the legendary temple of gastronomy and in the presence of some pers
onal Chefs of Heads of State. This meeting was introduced by Gilles Bragard, tailor of all the best Chefs in the world. After the huge success of this first meeting, all the Chefs who were invited suggested to organize other meetings to be able to see each other regularly. This is why Gilles Bragard created the same year the CCC, which gathers today more than 20 Chefs of Heads of State as official members of the association. That is how, since 1977, the Chefs des Chefs meet each other every year in a different Country to discover the local gastronomy, but also for the pleasure to meet and to share their passion. In addition to those official members, special membership may only be awarded to a person who has notably promoted great cuisine, or to excellent Chefs as Paul Bocuse or Alain Ducasse. As part of the traditional summer meeting, the President of the Club des Chefs des Chefs awards the title of honorary member to the Head of State where the meeting is held. Amongst the most renowned of theses members there are his Majesty Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden, Her Royal Highness the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand, the Former Prime Minister of Canada: Jean Chretien, and the Former President of the United States, Bill Clinton who hosted the Club des Chefs des Chefs in August 1996 at the White House in Washington.
