📸 Event Recap: ”Beyond Aid: Toward a New Paradigm of International Solidarity and Development” at Villa Bonaparte 🏛️

On May 14, 2026, Association Marianne 🇫🇷🇮🇹 had the honor of attending “Beyond Aid: Toward a New Paradigm of International Solidarity and Development.” 🌍 Hosted at the beautiful Villa Bonaparte to mark France’s G7 Presidency 🇪🇺, the event was co-organized by the French Embassy to the Holy See and the World Bank Group.

The panel brought together a distinguished group of global experts, featuring insights on reshaping international solidarity from Mr. Akihiko Nishio (World Bank Group), Dr. Victor Genina (Caritas Internationalis), and Fr. Pierre Januard (Pontifical University of Saint-Thomas d’Aquinas), all seamlessly moderated by the Canadian Ambassador to the Holy See, H.E. Joyce Napier.

At the same time, 8 March is not only a moment of remembrance, but also an invitation to consider what women’s presence has meant, and continues to mean, in the intellectual, social, cultural, and political life of our societies. To look back at these trajectories is also to recognise how deeply women have contributed to redefining the worlds they inhabited.

🇫🇷 ASP and Association Marianne at Palazzo Farnese, the French Embassy in Italy ✨

🤝 Today, we discovered the political and artistic legacy of what makes Palazzo Farnese one of a kind in Rome. Guided by Fabian Giecold, who offered us a rich journey through the palace’s architectural, artistic, and political layers.

🎓 We were later joined by Jocelyn Fiorina, Attaché for Science & Higher Education, who illuminated our members on how innovation and academia intersect with youth participation in diplomacy.

This visit was a reminder that true progress comes from collaboration across cultures to create the foundations for tomorrow’s global leadership 💫
