BREAKING: Fighting has erupted in Tharuop Nyakulang, also known as Limpuot, in Ngony Payam of Koch County in Unity State between armed youth and government forces.

Eyewitnesses states that the violence began when South Sudan People’s Defence Forces ambushed the armed youth, killing three people. Tharuop Nyakulang is located in Ngony Payam, Koch County in Unity State.

I, Mr. Achuil Akok, stand firmly to condemn the forced recruitment of children into the military forces in the Northern Bahr el Ghazal State (NBGS) Aweil.

As a proud son of the Mading Aweil community I express deep concern and disapproval of this practice which threatens the safety dignity and future of our youths.
It is perplexing and troubling that the government targets only one state NBGS Aweil for such forced military enlistment while leaving nine other states and three administrative Areas untouched.
This raises serious questions about fairness justice and the motives behind this selective recruitment.
Why is the burden of military service being imposed disproportionately on children from this particular area?
The leaders of the Mading Aweil community must rise with wavering strength and speak out decisively against this injustice.
It is essential that community leaders unite to advocate for the protection of our childrens rights and ensure their safety from coercion into armed conflict.

The forced conscription of minors violates fundamental human rights and disrupts the social fabric of our communities.

We call upon the government to reconsider and immediately halt this practice.
The future of our children and the well being of our communities depend on respecting their right to education growth and peaceful development rather than forcing them into military service.
It is imperative that the voices of the Mading Aweil community and all concerned citizens be heard loud and clear to bring about change and safeguard our childrens futures.

Security Advisory to All Members

This is a security advisory issued by the leadership of the South Sudan People’s Liberation Movement / South Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SSPLM/SSPLA).

The security situation in the country is expected to deteriorate significantly. Large-scale offensive and defensive military operations are anticipated involving government forces and armed opposition groups. In this context, the SSPLM/SSPLA affirms its political alignment with the SPLA-IO, the UPA Unified Forces, and other armed groups engaged in opposition to government forces.

All members are hereby advised to exercise heightened caution. Those who are particularly vulnerable are strongly encouraged, where possible, to leave the country temporarily, as the conflict is likely to expand and affect wide areas nationwide.

Members are further advised to remain vigilant against deliberate misinformation. Certain political and military actors are actively promoting a false narrative portraying the conflict as an ethnic war between Dinka and Nuer communities. This characterization is inaccurate and must be firmly rejected. Members are urged to resist ethnic polarization and to remain focused on pursuing political change through lawful, principled, and coordinated means, whether within or outside existing systems.

Message to Our Fellow Dinka and Nuer Communities

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We, the Dinka and Nuer communities, wish to remind all South Sudanese of an important truth.

The current situation in South Sudan is not a conflict between Dinka and Nuer. It is a struggle between reformists who want change and a better future, and corrupt elites who thrive on division and instability. If you doubt this, look at the case of Dr. Riek Machar. The activists raising their voices against his illegal detention are not only Nuer or Dinka they are South Sudanese who love this nation and want justice, peace, and stability.

To those who call this a Dinka–Nuer problem, we say loudly and clearly: No, and no again! Our problem is not tribal. It is man-made. It is a strategy of “divide and rule” that we must reject. As a literate society, it is our duty to guide our people and remind them that this war is not between our two great communities.

To our Nuer extremists and Dinka extremists, let us be very clear: this fight is not Dinka versus Nuer. It is a struggle between those leading South Sudan toward the right path and a small group from different backgrounds who keep our country in instability.

From today onward, let us stop the senseless accusations against each other, whether or not Dr. Riek Machar wins his case. Yes, a few Dinka individuals benefit because the president belongs to their community, but the majority of Dinka are suffering the same hardships as everyone else. They, too, are victims of bad leadership and failed politics.

We recognize that the Nuer community has suffered greatly from atrocities committed by this regime. But even so, we cannot abandon the path of reconciliation and healing. Our future depends on it.

Finally, let us stop spreading lies and fake news that can destroy our nation. Instead, let us be ambassadors of truth, of unity, and of peace.

Let us preach peace, live peace, and build peace together.
