NASCE MASBIA
Nel 1978 aprii il mio primo negozio di prodotti kasher in Via Sant’Ambrogio in Piazza. Il ricordo che mi rimase, e rimane ancora, più impresso di quel periodo della mia vita è di quando la gente meno abbiente veniva a fare la spesa. Compravano quelle due o tre cose neces
sarie che si potevano permettere. Io, alla cassa, li riempivo sempre di tanta roba in più. Mi è sempre dispiaciuto vedere gente che non aveva. Tanto era il loro stupore e incredulità che ogni volta mi dicevano “Ma questa roba non è nostra!”. Quest’esperienza mi segnò molto e decisi, vedendo anche la grande necessità che comunque c’era, di iniziare a preparare e distribuire pacchi con generi alimentari. In principio iniziai con 50 pacchi. Questo è quello che potevo fare. Nel corso degli anni, e sempre con l’aiuto di D, sono riuscito a fare sempre di più. Dopo due anni, ho chiesto anche le liste dalla deputazione in modo da poter allargare il raggio d’azione. E non solo della comunità di Roma. Mi sono occupato anche di portare prodotti alimentari ai nostri correligionari di origine russa e persiana quando erano di transito a Ladispoli. Alla fine decisi di aprire l’associazione Masbia Lekol Chay Ratzon. Con quest’associazione sono riuscito, insieme all’aiuto essenziale dei volontari e donatori, ad organizzare per ogni festività ebraica una grande distribuzione di generi alimentari per i meno abbienti e, in generale, a dare sostegno ai nostri correligionari in situazione di momentanea difficoltà. Ci tengo a sottolineare nuovamente il contributo fondamentale dei volontari. Per Masbia uno degli obiettivi fondamentali è coinvolgere i più giovani in questa grandissima mitzvà in modo da potergli trasmettere il significato profondo di Zedaka e Ghemilut Hassadim. Il riscontro è stato più che positivo e sono più che entusiasto di affermare che i nostri volontari sono un tassello fondamentale della nostra associazione. Stiamo facendo del nostro meglio per aiutare più gente possibile e speriamo di poter fare sempre di più nei giorni avvenire. Grazie a tutti che ci aiutate per aiutare. HOW MASBIA WAS BORN
In 1978 I opened my first kosher product store in Via Sant’Ambrogio in Piazza. The memory that remained, and still remains, more impressed of that period of my life is when the least wealthy people came to do their shopping. They bought those two or three necessary things they could afford. They said that for them Passover was that. I, at the checkout, always filled them with a lot more. I've always been sorry to see people who didn't have enough. So much was their amazement and disbelief that every time they said to me "But this stuff is not ours!". This experience marked me a lot and I decided, also seeing the great need that however there was, to start preparing and distributing parcels with foodstuffs. In the beginning I started with 50 packages. This is what I could do. Over the years, and always with the help of G, I have managed to do more and more. After two years, I also asked for lists from the deputation so that I could broaden my range of action. And not only of the community of Rome. I also took care of bringing food to our Russian and Persian co-religionists when they were in transit in Ladispoli. In the end I decided to open the Masbia Lekol Chay Ratzon association. With this association I managed, together with the essential help of the volunteers and donors, to organize for each Jewish holiday a large distribution of food for the less well-off and, in general, to support our co-religionists in situations of temporary difficulty. I would like to underline again the fundamental contribution of the volunteers. For Masbia one of the fundamental objectives is to involve the youngest in this great mitzvah in order to be able to convey the deep meaning of Zedaka and Ghemilut Hassadim to them. The feedback was more than positive and I am more than enthusiastic to say that our volunteers are a fundamental part of our association. We are doing our best to help as many people as possible and we hope to do more and more in the days to come. Thanks to all who help us for helping.
