Situato nella zona nord di Reggio Calabria e facente parte della Circoscrizione X della città, il quartiere Archi CEP è formato da un agglomerato di case popolari costruite a partire dagli anni '60. È famigerato per essere stato, negli anni '80, teatro della "seconda guerra di 'ndrangheta", evento che ha etichettato negativamente il territorio e "marchiato" migliai
a di persone oneste che in tutti questi anni hanno invece cercato, e cercano tuttora, di risollevare il territorio, dargli un volto nuovo ed ottenere il riscatto sociale ancora atteso. Questo progetto vuole partire proprio dall’agglomerato delle Case Economiche Popolari (CEP), riprendendo quanto iniziato negli anni '60 per proiettarlo verso il futuro con il "nuovo volto" di Centro Ecosostenibile Polienergetico (Nuovo CEP). Il progetto consiste nel prendere il quartiere CEP e renderlo "Nuovo"! Realizzando una centrale elettrica fotovoltaica distribuita sui tetti del quartiere, garantendo una forte autonomia energetica;
CONTEMPORANEAMENTE. Pianificando la trasformazione del quartiere in un quartiere ecosostenibile e modello, in piccolo, di una smart city;
A VE**RE. Partire dal quartiere "Nuovo CEP" per contagiare l'intera Reggio Calabria, e auspicabilmente anche la città di Messina, espandendo la trasformazione in smart city all'intera città. NEL FUTURO. L'internazionalizzazione dell'area dello Stretto, Reggio Calabria e Messina, come un'unica "Smart Metropolis" dello Stretto dove sviluppare impianti che sfruttano le sue ricche fonti energetiche (Sole, vento, mare e Terra) e in cui far sorgere un Centro di Ricerca Nazionale ed Internazionale sulle energie rinnovabili e sull'architettura ecosostenibile. Il progetto Nuovo CEP è il frutto della convergenza di diversi fattori guidati dalla voglia di riscatto di un'area "sporcata", maltrattata e trascurata: il cambiamento sociale; il suo benessere; il lavoro nella propria terra natìa, quindi un freno all'emigrazione per lavoro e per riportare l'economia nella propria terra; la crescita culturale; la visione ambientale, internazionale e futuristica; la riscoperta del bello e del buono che c'è nella nostra terra e nella nostra società. Situated in the north of Reggio Calabria as District X of the city, the Archi CEP neighbourhood consists of a cluster of public housing built since 60s. It is notorious for being the theatre of the "second war of 'ndrangheta", in the 80s, an event that has negatively labeled the territory and "branded" thousands of honest people who, in all these years, have sought, and still seek, to raise the territory, give it a new face and get the social ransom still awaited. This project just wants to start from the cluster of public housing (CEP, Case Economiche Popolari), taking up that started in the 60s to project it into the future with the "new face" of the New Polyenergetic Eco-friendly Centre (Nuovo CEP, Nuovo Centro Ecosostenibile Polienergetico). The project consists in taking the CEP neighborhood and make it new "nuovo"! Realizing a distributed PV power plant on the roofs of the neighborhood, providing a strong energy independence;
AT THE SAME TIME. Planning the transformation of the neighborhood into a sustainable neighborhood and model, in miniature, of a smart city;
COMING UP. Start from the "Nuovo CEP" neighborhood to infect the whole Reggio Calabria, and hopefully also the city of Messina, expanding the transformation in smart city to the entire city. IN THE FUTURE. The internationalization of the Strait area, Reggio Calabria and Messina, as a single "Smart Metropolis" of the Strait where develop systems that take advantage of its rich energy sources (sun, wind, sea and land) and where give rise to a National and International Research Center on renewable energy and sustainable architecture. The Nuovo CEP project is the result of the convergence of several factors driven by the desire for redemption of an area "dirtied", abused and neglected: social change and his well-being; work in their native land, so brake the emigration for working and move the economy in their own land; cultural growth; the environmental, international and futuristic vision; the rediscovery of the beauty and goodness that exists in our country and in our society.
