Si tratta di professori e ricercatori polacchi, bulgari e tuchi, in visita alla "Mediterranea" per attivitá didattica e di ricerca, i quali parteciperanno anche alla III edizione della Conferenza internazionale "AI, Law and Ethics - Issues and Challenges" (che avrà luogo martedì 19 maggio, ore 17:30, in presenza presso l'Università "Mediterranea" di Reggio Calabria e online, tramite la piattaforma zoom).
Edyta Rutkowska-Tomaszewska holds a postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in legal sciences and serves as Professor at the University of Wrocław. She is a research and teaching faculty member at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław, where she heads the Department of Financial Management at the Institute of Economic Sciences within the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics.
Barbara Mikołajczyk works at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. She specialises in international public law and human rights. She was involved in the COST action on ageism (IS1402). She is a member of the European Network on Law and Ageing Group (ELAN) and the Polish Commissioner for Human Rights’ Group of Experts on Older Persons. Moreover, she is involved in research within the Odysseus Academic Network for Studies on Immigration and Asylum in Europe. She was also appointed as an ad hoc judge in the European Court of Human Rights (2012 -2014). She has authored books and articles dedicated to human rights of various categories of vulnerable persons, such as migrant workers, asylum seekers, children, women (gender pay gap issues), ethnic minorities, sexual minorities and older persons.
Neyko Dimitrov is an Assistant Professor at arna Free University Faculty of Law. He obtained a Doctoral Degree in civil law at Sofia University Bulgaria. Main research interests focus on void and voidable contracts, possession and property, full or limited legal disability. He is a judge in District Court of Varna and participates in hosting judicial bilateral exchanges in EJTN. Trainer in the mandatory initial training for the candidates for junior judges in the National Institute of Justice. He is an author of several articles in national law journals and co-author of chapters on Civil and Family Law Procedure and Claims for ownership and other rights over a property in A Manual for Civil Law Judges. Joanna Nowakowska-Małusecka, Ph.D.
Dr. Hab., is a Professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland, member of the Research Team on International Law and Human Rights and an investigator in the research project on Gender-based violence in international law with particular emphasis on international criminal law at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Silesia and the Expert Council at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Silesia. She is the Dean's Plenipotentiary for the Quality of Education and Accreditation, Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Silesia and a Member of the Publishing House's Board of the University of Silesia.
Agnieszka Wojtasiak-Terech, Doctoral Degree in Economics, since 2003 employee of the
Wroclaw University of Economics and Business in the Department of Financial Investments
and Risk Management. Her research interests focus on financial markets and instruments,
local government finance and risk management. Besides, at the University she coordinates
the project “Universities of the Future” for the students who work on their individual
innovative ideas. Since 1999, she has been cooperating with the Warsaw Stock Exchange
Foundation in various educational programs. She is the coordinator and lecturer of the
Warsaw Stock Exchange School. From 1996 to 2006, she was an expert for the Wrocław
Regional Development Agency on projects concerning municipal development strategies and modelling the impact of EU funds on the economy of provinces. In 2006 and 2007 she coorganized the international program Global Village for Future Leaders at Lehigh University in the USA. Agnieszka Wojtasiak-Terech has also worked at the European Commission in the
Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs in Luxembourg.
Inga Mizdrak, Assistant Professor of Philosophy, is a lecturer at the Krakow University of Economics. She has developed her teaching and research work in the field of philosophical anthropology, ethics and social philosophy.
She prepared and delivered lectures to undergraduate or graduate students and community on topics such as Philosophy, Ethics, Business Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility, Contemporary Religious Thought, Philosophical Anthropology, Philosophy and Ethics, Ethics in Management, Ethics of Functioning of Public Institutions, Social Responsibility of Public Institutions, Ethics of the Civil Service.
Marcin J. Piątkowski has a PhD in economics at the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Krakow University of Economics. Member of the European Academy of Management (EURAM) and the Polish Economic Society (PTE). A long-time lecturer, certified academic tutor and trainer, he also gives guest lectures at foreign universities including those in Italy, Spain, Croatia, Portugal. Manager of his own research grants and participant of many scientific projects and author of publications in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation, competitiveness and development of companies and European funds. His scientific interests also include Industry 4.0, the digital economy and their impact on consumer behavior and generational differences. Expert in national and regional operational programs of European funds. He advises on the development and support of entrepreneurship at the local and regional level.
Bartosz Bigaj is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics at the University of Wrocław. His academic interests focus on EU regulations concerning the insurance sector, consumer protection, and the digitalisation of the insurance industry. He currently serves as the Head of the Brussels Office of the Polish Chamber of Insurance (PIU). Previously, he worked as an expert in the International Cooperation Department of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority(UKNF), where he was responsible for cooperation with European Supervisory Authorities (EIOPA, ESMA, EBA), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS).
Dominik Kossak is an Assistant Professor at the Chair of Financial Law, Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics as well as Master’s and PhD degrees in Law from the same university. During his studies, he participated in the Erasmus programme at Autonomous University of Madrid. His research interests focus on public finance law, particularly issues related to public debt and budget deficit institutions, tax law, as well as financial market law, with special emphasis on capital market regulations.
Justyna Sala-McCumiskey is an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience and an academic background in English Philology and Postmodern English Literature from the University of Warsaw. She is currently affiliated with the Kraków University of Economics, where she teaches Business English courses.
Previously, she lectured at Zhejiang Yuexiu University and Fuzhou University in China, delivering courses in Business Polish, English language studies, and Polish and European culture. She has also worked as a translator for organizations including the Filipino Charismatics Group, the Zhejiang Procurator’s Office, and Chinese scholars.
Her international academic and professional experience has enabled her to develop strong intercultural communication skills and a deep interest in Chinese culture and society, while reinforcing the importance of intercultural context in language education.
Joanna Szmigielska-Michałek is an English language teacher at Krakow University of Economics. She is a graduate of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and holds a Master’s degree in English philology. She has been teaching English for more than two decades now, first in private language schools, then at the Pedagogical University of Krakow, and, in recent years, at KUE Language Centre, where she teaches business and legal English.
She has also worked as a translator of both fact and fiction (e.g. she translated Robert Liparullo’s Germ, an action thriller, and co-translated The University of Criminals - literary non-fiction book on a German concentration camp in Lviv). She has also translated texts for EU-funded nature conservation projects focused on protecting various bird species and their habitats.
Kamila Bator is a lecturer of general and Business English specialising in business communication skills, with over ten years of teaching experience at Krakow University of Economics. She holds a Master’s degree in English Studies from the Pedagogical University of Krakow and combines academic experience with five years of professional background in the multinational corporate environment of a lange financial institution, bringing practical business insight into the classroom. Focuses on developing effective business communication and professional language skills in the workplace and international contexts.
Şeyma Ceylan, graduated with honors from TOBB University of Economics and Technology Faculty of Law in 2021 with a government scholarship., since 2024 has been working as a Faculty Research Assistant, and is currently serving as a Research Assistant at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law, Department of Information Technology Law. Her master’s thesis focuses on the pledge of crypto assets under Turkish and comparative law.
