The Charting Futures consortium met once again in Portugal for the second project mobility, bringing together partners from across Europe to share progress, exchange insights and coordinate the next steps of our collaboration.
This meeting strengthened the ongoing work connected to the European Charter on Local Youth Work, part of the Europe Goes Local initiative, which aims to improve the quality and impact of youth work at local level across Europe.

During the working sessions, partners officially started co-creating the first practical tool of the project — a resource designed to support and strengthen youth participation in local communities.
Working side by side allowed partners to combine perspectives, refine ideas and design a tool that responds to real needs faced by youth workers and organisations in their daily practice.
This mobility marked an important step in turning ideas into action.

Guided by the core principles of youth work, the consortium transformed discussions into concrete pathways that will guide the next phases of the project and contribute to empowering local youth work across Europe.

Our Maek APS team joined partners from across Europe in Portugal for the first in-person working meeting of the Erasmus+ project “Charting Futures – Empowering Local, Goes European.”
Coming together in the same space with organisations from Portugal, Poland, Sweden and Romania created a powerful opportunity to exchange perspectives, challenge ideas and strengthen the collaborative spirit that drives the project.

Throughout the week, partners worked side by side to explore and analyse the different domains of the Europe Goes Local Charter, discussing how these principles can be applied in real youth work contexts.
This process is part of a broader goal: developing practical tools that will help youth workers across Europe improve the quality, impact and innovation of local youth work.
The meeting was much more than a planning moment.
It allowed the partnership to build a shared vision, reinforce trust and lay the foundations for the next phases of the project, including the development of new resources for youth workers.

We returned home with renewed energy, a stronger sense of direction and a shared commitment to empowering local youth work across Europe.

Partners of the Erasmus+ project “Charting Futures – Empowering Local, Goes European” met online to coordinate the progress of the project and prepare the next steps of the collaboration.

During the meeting, the consortium discussed updates on Work Package 2 and Work Package 3, the collection of good practices on the Europe Goes Local Charter, and the development of practical tools to support youth workers across Europe.

Maek APS also presented the project’s Dissemination and Communication Plan, supporting partners in coordinating visibility and communication activities throughout the project.
The meeting also introduced a methodology for tool development, helping partners design practical resources that youth workers can use to strengthen local youth work in their communities.
The next important step will be the working session in Portugal (15–20 November), where partners will continue developing the project tools together.

How robotics is changing our world! 🌍

From 12 to 21 May, in Kaunas, Lithuania, young people from different countries came together for the Youth Exchange “Eco-Roboteers”, coordinated by our partner Neribota Ateitis focused on robotics, digitalisation, and their impact on society.

Throughout the exchange, participants took part in interactive workshops, group discussions, and creative activities that helped them better understand how robotics is already influencing many aspects of our daily lives. They explored how technology can increase productivity by automating repetitive tasks, improve safety by reducing human exposure to dangerous environments, and support healthcare through innovation in surgery, rehabilitation, and assistance for elderly people.

At the same time, the project highlighted the role of robotics in education, showing how hands-on learning can strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity among young people. Participants also reflected on the future of work, discussing how digitalisation and robotics are not only transforming traditional jobs but also creating new professional opportunities in fields such as programming, engineering, and artificial intelligence.

“Eco-Roboteers” offered a space for learning, exchange, and reflection, empowering young people to become more aware, skilled, and confident in navigating a rapidly changing digital world, while encouraging them to use technology in a responsible and sustainable way.

The project is co-funded by the European Union.
