Some rectifications about a London event from people claiming to be KWF in Greece and talking on behalf of KWF.
Concerning the following post on FB we would like here to make clear where we stand as KWF HQ Greece. KWF Greece has Mr. Costas Mouroutsos appointed as chief instructor and leader from KWF HQ.
Mr. Alevras has been our member until June but last June he asked to be freed to create his own KWF group with Japan. In other words he has set him self out of the officially designated KWF group. Japan has been informed of his decision as it happened. As far as we know he hasn't created his branch with HQ yet, and we know that he won't be able to do so in Greece.
Consequently, we hardly can see him as a member of KWF as he has chosen to put himself out of the organization. Unless he has in the meanwhile been affiliated with Mr. Tadrist's group, but then he belongs to a London branch, and he is not entitled to talk about Greece. The same goes for Mr. Manessis who hasn't even his own dojo but he catters followers from the dojo of his own teacher and his professional network.
Besides Mr. Alevras has been promoted a 4th dan irregularly. He was 3rd dan from Fudokan, organization which is not recognized by KWF HQ. Also there is a rule stating that one before aquiring a KWF dan before grading has to turn his present dan into KWF dan by paying it to KWF HQ. I hardly doubt that it has been the case, as I know it from the previous grading of Mr. Manessis in December 2023 where he passed to 4th dan from a 2nd dan JKA. He presented a 3rd dan degree from an obscure Greek karate association which has been accepted by the examiner as valid. In reality he has tested for 3rd dan in 2016 with JKA but has failed and was awarded a 2nd dan instead. This despite the fact that, this particular year, it has been very easy to grade. Then he never paid its due for 3rd dan to KWF HQ. We know it, as we have been collecting the examination fees.
At the moment, somehow we knew from our previous experience that something was not quite right, but we were unsure on the procedure. Today we know, because, despite been written in the KWF regulations it has become clear while discussing with Yahara sensei in Poland in October.
Also, according to KWF Greece written regulations, to become a member of KWF Greece, one must handle down a written application. Mr Manessis though he paid his dues for passport and 2024 license never handed us any written application, consequently he is in irregular situation with KWF Greece, and this despite having acquired a KWF passport. Besides, since last June he has taken himself the role of KWF representative without any such appointment while distancing himself from us.
As of today both haven't paid their dues for next year's license thus their membership status with us is terminated.
As KWF Greece we do not see how a former member and a member in irregular situation can pose or talk as representatives of KWF neither as organizers of a KWF events in Athens without prior consultation and knowledge of the appropriate authority in Greece. For Greece, we are the only responsible to do so, and we do not endorse such an event neither the behavior of Mr. Manessis and Alevras. KWF HQ has already knowledge of this divisive evolution, as it has been alerted on this matter, and we are looking forward to their reply.
