Bond of Union is a cooperative organisation working in the field of education & community engagement WE ARE BOND OF UNION!

Social cooperative, established in 2010, which aims to promote social development through local and international projects with a focus on active citizenship, environment, culture, entrepreneurship, professional training and international mobility. Thanks to the network of local and international partners and to the experience developed in project design and European project management, Bond of Union offers an efficient support to students, young graduated, professionals, educators and teachers, along with associations, enterprises, schools and public administrations that would like to develop innovative ideas and to better know the grant opportunities. A number of external collaborations, thanks to their creative and professional contribution, complete the services offered by the cooperative.

From 29th September to 2nd October, Bond of Union hosted in Palermo the Training for Neighborhood Community Workers.

The Training focused on the Necowo Curriculum that defines the professional profile of the neighborhood community worker.
All partners contributed by introducing the participants to the five modules and exploring them through practical exercises, simulations and group activities.

The training pathway includes:
participatory processes, territorial reading, artistic and creative approaches, the design and management of community‑based activities, digital and hands-on skills that sustain everyday work in neighborhoods.

The Training was an opportunity to bring together perspectives, methods and tools to strengthen a training framework that grows from the concrete experience of the partners.

All the participants came back home ready to start the neighborhood projects and apply what they learned and exchanged during the meeting in facilitation of inclusive processes.

Continuano le attività di Spazio al Capo, sostenute dall’ Otto per Mille Valdese.
Lunedì abbiamo ripreso le attività educative con le nostre bimbe e i nostri bimbi presso gli spazi dell’ex Convento Spirito Santo del Comune di Palermo e dell'Ufficio Politiche Giovanili e Igiene Pubblica.

In attesa di farvi conoscere le novità dei prossimi mesi condividiamo alcune foto del 🌿☀️ tempo d’estate 🌿☀️ realizzato a Luglio insieme ad ECCO APS che si è concluso con una bella festa con la Murga del Genio.
Un momento semplice ma potente, che li ha portati a sentire sempre più loro il nuovo spazio educativo.

URBEX for Youth was created with a clear idea in mind: young people must be able to read, imagine, and transform the city.

The training in Palermo, held from June 17 to 20, showed how this becomes possible when critical observation, creativity, and participation come together.
Throughout the sessions, the group built trust, explored the city using methods such as the landscape flâneur, digital collective mapping and participatory video, turning streets and neighbourhoods into a living laboratory of listening and analysis. We imagined possible futures through speculative writing and poetic documentary collage, eventually translating ideas and visions into concrete prototypes and first concepts for the Local Labs.

On Thursday 18th, we also had the opportunity to host the very first Italian Urbex Day: welcomed in the cosy garden of EPYC, we discussed the spaces available to young people in Palermo and the concrete actions that will be taken to ensure their accessibility in the future. We thank all participants for sharing their experiences with us.

The second stop of City Voices brought us to Bratislava, where we spent two days immersed in community life, participation and creative languages. Hosted by the Bratislava Policy Institute, an organisation committed to strengthening democratic and social resilience in Central and Eastern Europe, we had the chance to learn more about their work toward a more inclusive, cohesive and European‑minded society.

The first day focused on Community Photography, a methodology that uses photography as a tool for listening to and narrating the territory. Through images, atmospheres and details, participants built a collective story of the neighbourhood, culminating in the opening of the project exhibition - a moment of shared reflection that gave space to diverse perspectives and everyday stories.

The second day centred on the project’s progress and future directions, with an open exchange among partners on ideas, collaborations and potential transnational developments. A short but intense meeting that strengthened the network and opened new pathways for the months ahead.

Step by step, City Voices continues to weave together stories, places and communities that give voice to European cities!

On 27 and 28 May, the NeCoWo partnership met in Marseille, hosted by Le Tête de l’Art, for a transnational meeting dedicated to a clear objective: building together the Curriculum that defines the professional profile of the neighborhood community worker.

With all partners present, we worked on the Curriculum introduction, which clarifies what community work means across different European countries and brings together the results of the collective work on the necessary competences.

From there, we explored the modules that shape the training pathway: participatory processes, digital and hands-on skills, territorial reading, artistic and creative approaches, the design and management of community‑based activities and the soft skills that sustain everyday work in neighborhoods.
The TPM was an opportunity to bring together perspectives, methods and tools to strengthen a training framework that grows from the concrete experience of the partners. A pathway that gives structure, recognition and method to a professional figure rooted in listening, territorial presence and the facilitation of inclusive processes.

What made it even more special was being in Marseille during the Bel de May celebration that offered us a vibrant glimpse into the life of the neighbourhood. The streets were filled with music, colours and shared joy: children running, young people dancing, older residents singing along — a whole community celebrating together. A moment of collective energy that perfectly reflects the spirit of local participation at the heart of NeCoWo!

Ti invitiamo a partecipare all'Urbex Day, un momento di incontro, scambio e confronto dedicato al rapporto tra giovani, città e spazi pubblici.

L'evento fa parte di Urbex for Youth, un progetto europeo che promuove la partecipazione dei giovani alla vita delle città, incoraggiando una riflessione su come gli spazi pubblici possano diventare più inclusivi, sostenibili e significativi per le nuove generazioni.

Durante l'incontro saranno presenti educatrici ed educatori provenienti da Atene, Marsiglia e Berlino, che condivideranno esperienze, metodologie e pratiche dedicate alla partecipazione giovanile e alla riappropriazione degli spazi urbani.

Continuano le attività di Spazio al Capo, sostenute dall' Otto per Mille Valdese .

Da un paio di settimane, le nostre bimbe e i nostri bimbi, dopo le consuete attività all’aperto e una merenda condivisa, hanno preso parte ad un laboratorio dedicato alla democrazia e al voto (ringraziamo il Comune di Palermo e l'Ufficio Politiche Giovanili e Igiene Pubblica per gli spazi!).

Un momento semplice ma potente, che li ha portati a scegliere insieme il nome del nostro spazio:

🌌 La Stanza dell’Universo 🌌

Col proposito di sentire lo spazio sempre più “nostro”, abbiamo creato una bellissima bandiera e definito quello che sarà il simbolo, a breve il contest per la sua realizzazione…

E allora via con la creatività, l’immaginazione e tutto ciò che può nascere quando si cresce in uno spazio sicuro dove esprimersi, un luogo dove solo l’universo è il limite!

We came back from Wrocław a couple of weeks ago and the experience is still very present in our minds.
Fundacja Autokreacja hosted us for two intense days of the CityVoices project (funded under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values- CERV-2025-CITIZENS-CIV-project number: 101253296).
The programme supports civic engagement, democratic participation, and strengthening European values.

Bond of Union is a partner together with:
- ASEID (Spain)
- EduShakers (Belgium)
- Bratislava PI (Slovakia)
- USB (Greece)

In this vibrant, multicultural city - rebuilt with care and full of creative energy - we explored participation, community and the future of urban life.

Our first day combined a lecture on Garden Cities, the presentation of the “Citizens City Maps” concept and a hands‑on workshop that helped us explore the city and map needs, visions and urban narratives. The afternoon focused on the Community Needs Assessment, turning ideas into shared insights.

The second day brought an inspiring meeting with the Youth City Council of Wrocław, listening to young people’s perspectives on their city and its future.

See you again in June, in Bratislava - ready to hear the voice of the next city!
