On 27 and 28 May, the NeCoWo partnership met in Marseille, hosted by Le Tête de l’Art, for a transnational meeting dedicated to a clear objective: building together the Curriculum that defines the professional profile of the neighborhood community worker.
With all partners present, we worked on the Curriculum introduction, which clarifies what community work means across different European countries and brings together the results of the collective work on the necessary competences.
From there, we explored the modules that shape the training pathway: participatory processes, digital and hands-on skills, territorial reading, artistic and creative approaches, the design and management of community‑based activities and the soft skills that sustain everyday work in neighborhoods.
The TPM was an opportunity to bring together perspectives, methods and tools to strengthen a training framework that grows from the concrete experience of the partners. A pathway that gives structure, recognition and method to a professional figure rooted in listening, territorial presence and the facilitation of inclusive processes.
What made it even more special was being in Marseille during the Bel de May celebration that offered us a vibrant glimpse into the life of the neighbourhood. The streets were filled with music, colours and shared joy: children running, young people dancing, older residents singing along — a whole community celebrating together. A moment of collective energy that perfectly reflects the spirit of local participation at the heart of NeCoWo!
