Founded in 2000 in the backyard of Seattle, Washington photographer Casey Kelbaugh as an alternative method to showcase artwork while sharing food at a potluck gathering. By 2006, Slideluck regularly hosted events throughout the year in New York City. In 2007, Slideluck expanded internationally to Canada, South America, and Europe. In January 2010 Nairobi, Kenya became the first Slideluck event he
ld in Africa. In 2013, the Slideluck Salon Series was launched to promote panel discussions on issues within various food and art movements. Notable established artists exhibited at Slideluck events include Spencer Tunick, Chuck Close, Eugene Mirman, Elliot Erwitt, Shepard Fairey, Chris Buck, Alec Soth, Martin Schoeller, Elinor Carucci, Nina Berman, Edward Burtynsky, Gregory Crewdson, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Martin Parr, Duane Nichols and Nadav Kander.
