E4Impact Foundation

E4Impact Foundation At E4Impact Foundation we develop a new generation of impact entrepreneurs in Africa. The first MBA started in Kenya in 2010.

E4Impact is a social change organization that supports the start-up and growth of new businesses in Africa. It was launched in 2010 as initiative of ALTIS – Graduate School of Business and Society of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. In 2015 it became a Foundation with the support of Associazione Genesi, Mapei, Webuild, the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Always Africa Association. La

ter, Eni, Intesa Sanpaolo, VueTel, Carvico, Montello and Confapi joined E4Impact as Corporate Participants and Diana Bracco, Michele Carpinelli and Jean-Sébastien Deacaux as Individual Participants. The work of the Foundation contributes to the accomplishment of many of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Goals. E4Impact portfolio of activities entails:

- Entrepreneurship programs (Global MBA in Impact Entrepreneurship and International Certificate in Impact Entrepreneurship)
- Accelerators for new businesses
- Services for expansion of European SMEs
- Multilateral Projects
The Global MBA in Impact Entrepreneurship and the International Certificate in Impact entrepreneurship are entrepreneurship programs offered in collaboration with Università Cattolica and a local university from the host country. These programs guide active and aspiring entrepreneurs to start or scale their businesses, providing them simultaneously with an academic and business acceleration experience. Since then, E4Impact has expanded to Ghana, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Ethiopia, Sudan, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Cameroun, Moçambique, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, Tchad and Tunisia. While, in South Africa, E4Impact has launched the International Certificate in Impact Entrepreneurship, after a first experience of this programme in Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Business Accelerators provide new businesses with training, links with local investors, connections with international companies, seed funding, ICT and satellite communication services and office space. The Foundation also supports the expansion of European SMEs in Africa. By matching them with reliable local entrepreneurs, E4Impact offers small businesses a low cost, low-risk opportunity to enter the African countries where the MBA is offered. Finally, E4Impact takes part in multilateral projects, working with international partners to design and implement customized training and consulting programs for different actors.

🎉 A new milestone for our E4Impact Entrepreneurship Center Ghana!

🎓On 20 August 2026, we celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the International Certificate in Impact Entrepreneurship (ICIE), delivered under the EU–Ghana Pact for Skills – Entrepreneurship Stream.

🤝The graduation ceremony brought together young entrepreneurs, university partners, government representatives, development partners and key actors from Ghana’s entrepreneurship ecosystem to recognise the achievements of the participants and celebrate their entrepreneurial journey.

📚 Implemented in collaboration with Cape Coast Technical University, Ho Technical University - HTU, Takoradi Technical University - TTU and the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies, the programme provided young entrepreneurs with practical business knowledge, coaching, mentorship and tools to turn their ideas into viable and impactful ventures.

🏆 The final event also celebrated the outstanding entrepreneurs from the final pitch competitions and highlighted some of the innovative solutions developed throughout the programme.

👏 Congratulations to all the graduates and to our E4Impact Entrepreneurship Center in Ghana for reaching this important milestone, and a special thank you to all the partners and stakeholders who contributed to making the first edition of ICIE possible.

➡️The ICIE Programme is delivered under the EU–Ghana Pact for Skills, funded by the European Union and implemented by the UN Capital Development Fund in partnership with E4Impact Foundation, and co-financed by the Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo and the Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale.

🌍 On World Entrepreneurship Day, we celebrate the power of entrepreneurship to create opportunities, generate jobs and drive positive change in communities.

🚀 At E4Impact, we believe in entrepreneurship as a key driver of sustainable and inclusive development. Across Africa, we support entrepreneurs in starting and growing their businesses, strengthening their skills, accessing new markets and finance, and building networks that can help their companies thrive.

📈 Today, the E4Impact Alumni Community brings together more than 2,000 entrepreneurs, while our development projects have reached over 7,100 direct beneficiaries and more than 40,500 entrepreneurs through Training of Trainers activities.

💼 The impact goes beyond training: entrepreneurs participating in our MBA programmes create an average of 13 jobs each, while 96% have expanded their businesses. These figures reflect what entrepreneurship can achieve when talent, knowledge, networks and opportunities come together.

🤝 On this World Entrepreneurship Day, we celebrate all the entrepreneurs who turn ideas into businesses, challenges into opportunities and their ambitions into value for their communities. We are proud to walk alongside them and contribute to building stronger entrepreneurial ecosystems across Africa.

🎒 What does it mean for a university student to do an internship in Africa with E4Impact Foundation?

📰 Giovanni Rapazzini, a student in the Master's Degree program "Business Management" at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, tells us in this article.

👉🏾 Giovanni spent a few months in Accra (Ghana), where he had the opportunity to work at the E4Impact Entrepreneurship Center.

🌱 Thanks to the variety of activities carried out, he came back to Italy deeply enriched, both emotionally and professionally: he had the chance to understand how closely entrepreneurship and community are connected in Ghana, and to observe up close how local business ecosystems grow and thrive.

📚 Training African researchers so they can contribute to the development of their own countries: this is the goal of the International PhD programme by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and E4Impact. Launched as part of the D.E. Africa project (Doctoral Education for Africa), the initiative is supported by the Italian Episcopal Conference through 8xmille funds and offers high-quality doctoral pathways to African lecturers in Africa — without fuelling brain drain, but instead strengthening the continent's universities and research systems.

🌍 Many of the protagonists of this initiative have now submitted their thesis and are about to receive their doctoral degree in Management and Innovation. In this article, they share their experience and future outlook, showing how D.E. Africa fosters sustainable academic cooperation: training researchers, strengthening African universities and building new scientific collaborations on crucial topics such as entrepreneurship, development, sustainability and innovation.
