Peace Developer is honoured to share that our cross-border participatory research and peacebuilding work has received the Artful Integrators Award at PDC 2026.
On behalf of Peace Developer and our Thai-Cambodian collaborative research team and work “Beyond the Screen in Cambodia-Thailand: Designing Connection Across Sides During Conflict Escalation,” our advisor Raymond Hyma has just accepted the Artful Integrators Award from the Participatory Design Conference at Politecnico di Milano in Milan, Italy. This prize has been awarded to our 25-member team to recognize a group of people who together have worked out, in an exceptionally creative way, new forms of participation in design.
This recognition honours the collaborative research process that helped shape Peace Developer as a youth-led cross-border network, built through partnership with Women Peace Makers, Wocation, Monash University, and the University of Warwick.
The Artful Integrators Award emphasizes the importance of collaborative participation in design, and a view of good design as the effective alignment of diverse collections of people, practices, and artifacts.
Our Peace Developer is a living and evolving artifact of an encounter between Cambodian and Thai youth who conducted research together and built friendships and strong relationships just before armed conflict ignited between our countries. Despite much pressure in our own communities to take sides and leave our collaboration as the violence escalated, we made the intentional choice to continue talking and use our cross-border friendships to unite against war and keep a dialogue going both online and offline.
Our message is simple but important: even in seemingly unsolvable conflict, there are always people on both sides who are willing to stay in contact and work together to call for the end of violence and war. We are grateful to those who have supported and believed in our vision, and accept this award with both pride and humility, knowing we have much more work to do.

📢 Peace Developer Joins the Mental Health Innovation Network.
We are thrilled to announce that Peace Developer has been officially recognized as an active member of the Mental Health Innovation Network (MHIN).
The MHIN, jointly led by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centre for Global Mental Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), is the premier global community for mental health researchers, practitioners, and innovators.
What This Means For Us?

Peace Developer's youth-led research takes the stage in the UK!
We recently had the pleasure of sharing Peace Developer's research and work in Brighton, UK, at , the British International Studies Association conference, themed "Is International Studies ready for what comes next? New thinking, new directions."
Our adviser, Raymond Hyma, presented findings from our Facilitative Listening Design (FLD) study examining the drivers and real-life impacts of online conflict between Cambodia and Thailand. The research was conducted by Cambodian and Thai community researchers in 2024 and explored how digital tensions shape relationships, perceptions, and everyday experiences across borders.
As part of the panel "Contemporary Challenges in Peacebuilding," we were honoured to share the space with peace and conflict scholars Irene Piedrahita, Hyungjung Park, and Gearoid Millar in a rich conversation about how peacebuilding research and practice might respond to the challenges ahead.
The presentation drew on findings from our book "Between Likes and Loathing: A Cross-Border Inquiry into the Online Conflict Between Thailand and Cambodia," which was collaboratively produced by Cambodian and Thai co-researchers. Many of the co-researchers remain active today through our Peace Developer network.
We are incredibly grateful to our network advisor Raymond Hyma for representing us on this global stage, spotlighting the incredible dedication of our cross-border youth researchers who remain the heart and soul of this network.

We are deeply grateful to our Peace Developer Advisors for their continued guidance, encouragement, and belief in youth-led peacebuilding for Harmony Nexus Campaign 2025.

Their diverse experiences across Canada, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Colombia bring valuable global perspectives to our work. Through their support, Peace Developer continues to grow as a platform that fosters dialogue, trust, and cross-border understanding among young people.

Excited to share the Peace Progress Report: Harmony Nexus 2025 by Peace Developer.
This report reflects the work, learning, and collective effort behind our 2025 campaign to foster dialogue, understanding, and youth-led peacebuilding between Thailand and Cambodia.
None of this would have been possible without the hard work, commitment, and trust of everyone involved: our team leads, volunteers, advisors, partners, speakers, participants, and supporters. Thank you for giving your time, ideas, energy, and care to this initiative.
Harmony Nexus 2025 reminds us that peacebuilding is not only about formal dialogue. It is also about young people choosing to listen, collaborate, create, and build bridges across borders.

Proud to share that Peace Developer is at the University of Nicosia
Our work was recently presented at the International Conference on Emerging Technologies in Conflict & Peace, hosted by the university's Digital Transitions & Society initiative and the ECPR's Critical Peace & Conflict Standing Group.

Digital spaces don't have to be battlegrounds.
Members and advisors of Peace Developer were honored to participate in the recent public talk, “Between Likes and Loathing.” The event brought together experts who have spent months analyzing how conflict manifests in the digital age.
We are proud to stand as a case study for positive change. Peace Developer grew out of the very conflicts we now analyze, proving that cross-border networks can thrive even in the most challenging online climates. Our mission remains clear: to show that cooperation is a choice, and it’s one we must make every day.
