CASAORNELLA: Animale Sociale – Nessuno mi può giudicare

Curated by Maria Vittoria Paggini, Animale Sociale brought together designers and collaborators including Turati Cucine, Fratelli Boffi, Cerasarda, Softhouse, Serenissima (Gruppo Romani), Corpoluce, Fotone Design, Michele Chiocciolini, Gouache (Kerakoll), Rumore, Mamoli Milano, Ferruccio Laviani, Alessandro Florio, Giuseppe Palermo, Ludovica Lugli, Abreham Brioschi, Sébastien Nôtre, Narici Milano, Laboratorio Niko Romito, Armatore Cetara, Feudi di San Gregorio, Mastrojanni, Sartoria Latorre, and BTicino at Casaornella.

The apartment became a permeable domestic organism where thresholds replaced walls and space was designed for encounter. Living, dining, sleeping, and bathroom areas flowed into one another through materials, light, and objects that dissolved separation and encouraged proximity.

Across the interiors, bespoke furniture, ceramic systems, mirrored surfaces, textiles, and sculptural works created a continuous environment where design, art, and daily rituals overlapped. The house became a shared field of presence rather than a sequence of rooms.

HoperAperta: Close-up

Close-up presented by HoperAperta at the Museo Mangini Bonomi, an exhibition that explored the temporal, symbolic, and formal value of “image-objects”—between appearance and essence.
A collection of unique art and design works unfolded in the museum courtyard as a poetic system of images and memories, where painting, photography, sculpture, design, and architecture merged through processes of transformation and métissage. Forms moved continuously from function to image, and from memory to invention, generating a layered narrative in which past, present, and future coexisted. Each object carried its own temporal sequence, activated by poetic imagination and spatial movement.
Works by Maurizio Barberis, Armando Bruno & Alberto Torres, Claesson Koivisto Rune, Alfonso Femia AF*Design, Duccio Grassi, Steve Piccolo, Carmelo Zappulla (External Reference)

Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera: RAKETOPIA – tool-being

With RAKETOPIA – tool-being, students from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera presented a research project developed within the courses of Progettazione Artistica per l’Impresa and Product Design, coordinated by Elisabetta Gonzo and Donata Paruccini.

The project took the rake as its starting point to explore the relationship between individual and space, gesture and transformation. Reinterpreted through new meanings and functions, the object became a tool for shaping both physical and conceptual landscapes, opening moments of reflection and new ways of inhabiting.

Set within Il Giardino Segreto Laura Peroni, the exhibition unfolded as a quiet environment where design and nature came into dialogue.

Scatto Filatelico reimagines the postcard as a contemporary ritual during Milano Design Week 2026.

At Spazio Filatelia Milano, visitors were invited to transform their own images into printed postcards, combining digital tools, tactile materials, and the timeless gesture of handwriting. From image selection to printing, stamping, and sending, each step became part of a slow, intentional experience.

Blending technology, design, and tradition, the project brought together Poste Italiane – Filatelia, Canon Italia, Haltadefinizione, and IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, with the cultural contribution of the Pinacoteca di Brera.

Mario Trimarchi: Nuvole come Preghiere

Nuvole come Preghiere is a project by Mario Trimarchi presented at Paula Seegy Gallery, exploring drawing as a poetic and contemplative act.

Clouds become a metaphorical threshold — between human and divine, presence and memory. Through delicate compositions, the works evoke fragments of a silent world: shells, leaves, vessels, and distant traces that emerge within an atmosphere of suspension.

In a time marked by uncertainty, the project reflects on drawing as a form of resistance and reflection — a way to preserve the presence of things and to give shape to invisible emotions.
Nuvole become preghiere: fleeting forms that carry hope, memory, and the possibility of quiet contemplation.

Giuditta Vettese: La Fiamma che non Brucia

This year Giuditta Vettese presented a handcrafted glazed ceramic work that continues her research into energy as material presence and transformation. Developed as a unique piece, the sculpture unfolds as a large concentric and concave form that holds water, conceived as a a carrier of life, purification, and cyclicality, a regenerative surface where matter, symbol, and ritual converge. On display at Cavallerizze, the work becomes a domestic altar-like presence, a still-water fountain positioned between intimacy and contemplation.

Rooted in references to ancient symbolic systems and the sensorial dimension of the human body, a unique piece handmade with the expertise of Faenza ceramic artisans, The Flame That Does Not Burn is a meditation on the body and on the circle as a state of continuous generation: an oxymoronic and paradoxical flame that does not burn, a metaphor for the eternal transformation and renewal of vital force.

The generative sound installation designed by Jacopo Gino uses a network of proximity sensors to connect the sculpture with the space and the body of anyone who approaches it, triggering sounds that evoke the connection between water and the body – understood both as the human body and as the ceramic form: the sound of swallowing, of the voice and of breathing, but also of kneading damp clay, of shaping on the potter’s wheel and of mixing the engobe.

Sam Baron × The Cloister: CELEBRATION

Sam Baron and The Cloister presented CELEBRATION, an intimate exhibition shaped by the friendship between Daniela Cavero, founder of The Cloister, and French designer Sam Baron during Milan Design Week 2026.

The project proposed a slower encounter with design, centred on gathering, exchange, and personal discovery. At its heart, a sculptural celebratory “cake” became both installation and display structure, hosting a curated selection of limited-edition pieces.

Developed with European artisans and designers, the collection brought together craftsmanship and everyday use. Each object became a vessel of memory—an intimate souvenir of time spent in Milan, where selection and encounter became part of the experience itself.

Ottica San Maurilio: Fluorescence by Theo Eyewear

Ottica San Maurilio presented Fluorescence by Theo Eyewear, a collection of creative eyewear that balanced classic colour palettes with unexpected neon flashes. The Belgian brand explored bold design as a way to “light up the gaze,” transforming frames into expressive objects that shifted between subtlety and intensity.

During 5VIE Design Week 2026, the space became a Fluo Experience, inviting visitors to discover colour in a new light—frames designed to enhance the look by day and glow by night.
