The Foundation’s mission is to accelerate solutions to ocean issues by inspiring international leaders, companies, institutions and individuals; promoting a sustainable blue economy and spreading knowledge on marine ecosystems through ocean literacy. The Foundation’s aim is to become an active platform capable of bringing together and consolidating all the realities operating for the protection of

the ocean in various parts of the world. The distinctive element of One Ocean Foundation is represented by an important network of partner companies, a scientific committee of international relevance and, at the same time, a strong commitment to raise awareness among the new generations. Thanks to its partners, One Ocean Foundation is engaged in multiple projects and activities related to its mission divided into three macro areas: blue economy, education and environmental. Our code of ethics is the Charta Smeralda, an innovative document developed by our Scientific Committee, accessible through the website www.1ocean.org that guides individuals and organizations towards behaviors that respect the marine environment.

With his contagious enthusiasm, his stories, and his experience, he reminds us how extraordinary the ocean is and how urgent it is to protect it.

We were truly honored to welcome him to One Ocean Week to present his documentaries and share his commitment to the ocean and marine protected areas.

Having people like him by our side, people who can raise awareness, inspire others, and turn knowledge into concrete action, is essential.

Because it is exactly with this spirit, this energy, and this enthusiasm that we can create real blue change. 💙🌍

On June 1st, we celebrate World Coral Day 🪸🌊

Our Mediterranean Sea is also home to extraordinary underwater forests: gorgonians, such as Paramuricea clavata, paint deep rocky walls with color, creating habitats rich in marine life.

They do not grow on tropical coral reefs like the ones we usually imagine, but thrive on the Mediterranean’s coralligenous reefs and rocky seabeds, true submerged natural architectures.

Fragile, precious, and essential for marine biodiversity, gorgonians remind us how much the sea needs to be protected. 🌍🐠

Valentina Lovat tells us more about them, and she loves them so much that she even brought one with her to One Ocean Week! 🪸🌊

Protecting the Mediterranean also means safeguarding these extraordinary underwater forests.

M.A.R.E. has set sail once again.
Now underway, the 5th edition retraces past routes to monitor changes in Mediterranean marine ecosystems. From biodiversity and underwater noise to pollution and climate change, the project continues to build essential knowledge for the protection of the Mediterranean.

Tre giorni di incontri, idee, energia e connessioni.
La One Ocean Week 2026 si conclude, ma il viaggio continua.

Grazie a chi ha partecipato, ascoltato, condiviso.
Grazie agli speaker, ai partner, ai volontari e a tutta la community che ha reso possibile questa edizione. Grazie al MUBA - Museo dei Bambini Milano per aver condiviso con noi questa splendida location e grazie al per il continuo supporto nei progetti e nelle attività che la Fondazione fa per la comunità. Grazie ai nostri partner tecnici , e per il fondamentale lavoro dietro le quinte.

Siamo felici di aver portato sul palco esperti, scienziati, professionisti e artisti per approfondire temi sempre più centrali per il clima e il nostro futuro. Perché proteggere l’oceano significa capire che siamo tutti parte dello stesso ecosistema 🌊

Si conclude oggi la One Ocean Week 💙

Anche questa terza giornata ci ha regalato momenti di condivisione, consapevolezza e connessione con il mare.

Tra sessioni di yoga, laboratori per i più piccoli, momenti dedicati alla ricerca, alla divulgazione e all’arte, abbiamo celebrato l’oceano e riflettuto insieme sull’importanza di proteggerne gli ecosistemi, immaginando un futuro sempre più blu.
Perché siamo tutti connessi dall’oceano🌊

Grazie a tutti coloro che hanno partecipato, ascoltato, condiviso ed esplorato con noi l’oceano.
